And Beer's debut gets entirely ignored.

At last, a Beer for Ricky ...

So Usman and Bollinger replace Punter and Harris. ****** Clarke to captain. Not much of a change really considering the long delay.

Beer and Bollinger tipped to fight to avoid carrying the drinks.

Officially from CA site
The 12-man squad is: Michael Clarke (c), Brad Haddin (vc), Doug Bollinger, Michael Beer, Phillip Hughes, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mike Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Usman Khawaja, Peter Siddle, Steven Smith, Shane Watson.
Fark.

Fark.
And that turned out well...Henry wrote:Khawaja's debut is the most exciting and anticipated Australian debut since Brett Lee was selected for the 1999 Boxing Day test against India.
Why would you have thought that?lardbucket wrote:If that Henry-posted squad's official, we can pencil in 3-1 now. I really thought the NSP would be above trying to justify their previous selections, and that they would have aimed for 2-2.

I take it the 'fark' wasn't part of CA's statement - unless the words 'you' and 'Hauritz' were inadfvertantly left off?

So the Aus attack will be Cot, Milf, Midge, Smith and Beer (in order of talent and penetration). Ugh.

I hope Clarke only survived because Ponting could not play ... and if so, I hope they told him so, repeatedly, in words of one syllable ... punctuated by kicks to the groin.

In a poll conducted in 'The Age' newspaper today, 94% of 5000 people said that they didn't want Clarke as the test captain.

The donkey vote sometimes approaches 6%. Presumably, too, some were blind, drunk, ataxic, or all of the above; so they accidentally ticket the wrong box ... and of course there's the English migrant population to consider ... and the rugby players who think 'no' means 'yes' ...

There is a notable distinction between League & proper Rugby Lardy.

They wear the blue cap so that gives you extra credits.
Hilfenhaus is just as lucky to survive. When does he ever threaten to bowl out a team? He has lacked penetration this series. Watching him live, he also lacks energy in the field and he offers nothing with the bat.
Sutherland just being interviewed now has confirmed that Nielsen has another two years to run on his contract.

So how bad does it have to get for Australia before they make major changes? A test series loss to Bangladesh?

Yes, forgive me. Rugby (proper rugby) players can at least speak. Interviews of League players always look incredibly embarrassing if they follow interviews of Rugby players - eg Hopoate v Eales says it all. My apologies.

While Hilfy has'nt had a big haul this series, he has, at least, been economical. Compared to Watson & Bollinger, i don't know how you can say he lacked energy in the field.
