Re: IPL TV coverage in Australia
One HD has shown it in the past. They won't this year because the BCCoarIab and/or the money-hungry bastards who run the IPL have done something stupid/corrupt/illegal with the overseas rights, depsite Ten/One HD having signed a five year deal two years ago. So nothing.
Youtube has shown some/all the matches live in the past, I think, so that may be an option. For the sad, the desperate, and the Mudges.

And in unrelated, but possibly slightly better news, Nine no longer as the rights to Wimbledon. Seven will show the free TV coverage from 2011. Which menas come the next Ashes in England, Nein won't be able to f*ck them up, and they won't be able to f*ck up the Wimbledon coverage either. Not a bad bit of news...

Blimey, I've photoshopped heads onto other people's bodies more convincingly than that. And I'm a cack-handed techno-dunce.
She would never pose for such a picture. Shame - missed her window of opportunity as she looks like a tired Carol Vorderman these days.

have you seen their respective sport coverage (across the board)? They'll both fudge it up somehow.

Seven is better than Nein.
OK, that may be like saying having the little finger on your left hand amputated is better than having the little finger from your right had amputated, but the point stands.

Something most would agree on.

Hot dog, my brain's all over the shop today. Perhaps this is the real me. Perhaps I've just been getting away with it for all this time.

Ten are changing One HD to general content because of poor ratings. Possible because it was full of sh!t like basketball.

Re: IPL TV coverage in Australia
At least Ten has said they'll keep 'premium' sport on One.
Sadly, One is the only terrestrial HD channel I watch much of. I can't see the point in watching 50s and 60s sitcoms in HD, or shows like the A-Team and MacGyver, which were shot in SD. And News 24 is just low-budget and looks it.
But unsurprisingly, it now seems HD TV in Australia will be a wasteland.

From crikey:
Sons of Anarchy is excellent. I've watched (courtesy of Bob*) all episodes of it. Get your hands on it if you can.
Monday to Friday will see One offer General Entertainment, with Premium sport offerings on the weekend. The General Entertainment shows will have a very male skew. It is interesting to see that both of Tens digital channels are taking on the most clearly defined of their competitors channels. Eleven seeking the same youth audience that Go! had been so successful in attaining, and now One HD is seeking the same hard-to-reach male audience as 7Mate.
One HD will offer the following programs:
•Everest: Beyond The Limit
•Ice Road Truckers
•Extreme Fishing with Robson Green
•An Idiot Abroad
•Airline
•Long Way Round
•COPS
•Terriers
•Lights Out
•Breakout Kings
•Sons of Anarchy

probably cheaper to chuck re-runs of god knows what on, rather than pay for rights to random sports.

Re: IPL TV coverage in Australia
Of course when Nein launched the godawful 'Gem' they promised (still do in fact on Gem's website) that they'd show 'All Nine's sport in HD'.
Which lasted, I think, three ODIs v Sri Lanka in October before they arsed it. Hopefully Ten has a little more, even some, integrity...
The government should step in and insist that HD is used to screen stuff produced in HD, not upscaled to HD. But they're already as popular as pus with the networks as it is, so they won't put any pressure on them.

Aye, GEM is the pox. GO is OK with the odd decent show (IMHO) in prime time.

Aye. Just as well HD TVs are cheap at the moment, otherwise there's nowt to justify buying the farkers.
