RWC TV coverage thread
Don't have Fox in the bedroom, so watched the Wallabies RWC match on ten last night.
If there's ever been a worse excuse for live coverage of a sports event on TV, anywhere in the world, I'm buggered if I know what it is.
Incessant commercial breaks, even more than Nein throw in during leeg, or Seven do in anything. One of them (at 1 in the morning) was for some toy, marketed at seven-year-old girls. Can't imagine too many of them up watching rugby at 1a.m.
Idiot commentators who continually missed what was going on on the field, the biggest gaffe was when they went into orgasms about Berrick Barnes's hat-trick on debut, and what a wonderful thing it was. There was a good five minutes of carping about it.
Unfortunately, Barnes only scored two tries.
Next game, I'll watch on Fox on the couch, and if I doze off there, so be it.
Ten, seriously... crapulent.

Re: RWC TV coverage thread
Just had a look at ten.com.au/rugby
Seems I'm not alone in being disappointed in ten's coverage of the tournament. Their 'forum' (which seems to have less than 200 members) was full of complaints about the piss poor quality of ten's broadcasts.
Then a few minutes later, they disappeared.
Maybe ten has hired some old C4 gestapo to run it.
But I will be sending a fax tomorrow expressing my disappointemt with the quality of the coverage.
Still, on the bright side, Australia lost, so I won't have to watch ten screw it up any more.

That's a pretty sick comment, no need to share that kind of depravity in public, thanks.

Re: RWC TV coverage thread
Ten had the exclusive rights to the live coverage of last nights Eng v Aus game, so as an English fan I had to sit through 80 minutes of the most biased tripe I have ever heard.

It was all worth it when the final whistle was blown, though. It was hilarious watching Ben Tune and co fighting back tears and genuinely looking stunned. Suckers.

Zat, you should look at getting one of those boxes that lets you watch Fox in another room.
Here's a link to one on eBay

Wow. What a shock. Mudge concentrating on the negative even in the midst of a victory.Henry wrote:It was all worth it when the final whistle was blown, though. It was hilarious watching Ben Tune and co fighting back tears and genuinely looking stunned. Suckers.
Stuff celebrating your own teams win, why not dwell on the dissapointment of the vanguished?
If the word contempt didn't exist, I'd be feeling nothing but pity for you.

Is that comment for real blik? Only compared to what I've seen on this forum that's childs play.

Wasn't much point for that match, Ten had the exclusive rights to it.Ross wrote:Zat, you should look at getting one of those boxes that lets you watch Fox in another room.

It's OK Zimi, after his most recent sherry enema, Trev isn't feeling much of anything.Invader Zim wrote:Wow. What a shock. Terribly sorry that I don't find "jokes" about 7 year old girls using vibrators funny. There must be something wrong with me. Oh yes, that's it - I'm not a playground-cruising nonce.

Surely you lot haven't got a sense of humour where Mudge is concered. I laughed a lot when he said about the boys choking back the tears... hilarious.

Mudge is a living joke. I laugh at him all the time
