This T20 WC Tv coverage....
Just how bad can it get?
The TV pic is sooooo close into the action that I can't tell if the ball has been either lofted into space or straight down the throat of a fielder.
Ok, so if Flints is on strike more than likely its to the fielder but FFS come on!
Who is providing the TV footage?

Some unprofessional load of gumps. They should just let the English do it, we're by far the best at most things, bar playing the game. The colonials are just pure incompetant at most things. Sort of jokes if you will.
Re: This T20 WC Tv coverage....
What's ticking me off is the lack of replays after the fall of a wicket. Instead they go for a commercial break. So what you get is, you get up and go to the kitchen/loo/door/phone, hear, 'Owzaaaaaaaat' on your way there, think, 'bugger, I missed it', go back to see the replay only to be confronted by a bleeding advert. So, you go back to the kitchen/loo/door/phone and start doing what you have to do. Then, with one ear cocked listening for the adverts finishing you rush back to see the replay only to find you've missed the sodding thing.
As for that woman female person commentating? Words fail me.

The worst thing has to be them interviewing members of the batting side as a ball is actually being bowled...
At the fall of a wicket, between overs, even between balls is fair enough. But we've seen boundaries hit while they are just chatting as if play isn't actually going on.

Bumble has been the only ray of light on what has been a crappy bunch of commentators. I can hardly wait now for Aamir "The worlds about to end" Sohail.

Bumble, Slater, Mbangwa, Hussain and Shastri are good. The rest are pretty awful.
By the way, who the hell is that grey haired English bloke thats been heading up one of the commentary teams? Allan Wilkins? Never heard of him.

Actually adding Bish to that lot makes up a decent set. Wilkins is a Taff. http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/22437.html
Re: This T20 WC Tv coverage....
From what i've heard, Wilkins is very much from the Charles Colville school of commentary.

Also, in pretty much every game i've watched there has been a 5 minute break because of a technical fault. Maybe that's just a stupid Fox Sports (Aus) thing.

It's ESPN/Star Sports who are providing the coverage.

Ahhhh, absolutely no wonder. Glad the ICC don't want the best for one of their tournaments.

The best commentator in the world is definitely no Colville. If only he had a contract with ESPN...

Fork orf, you northern sheet.
He's alright, good in fact, but he's too trite. Stuffy old goiter.

They should let Sky sort out everything for the major tournaments. They know how to run a decent shop.

Yeah, with Ian Blackwell, Ian Harvey and Chris Eubank as their pundits...

Don't be absurd. The BCCCI have never heard of them.

Uhhh, each country pundits themselves. Were on about the coverage, production etc.
We could have the 'A' team there if we wanted. Sky just reckon is a bit of fun, get a few gibbons in to be light-hearted and stutter.
Re: This T20 WC Tv coverage....
Dello wrote:Ed Gibbons?
Nah. He gets too coked up, talks about himself the whole time, 'bigging himself up': "When I played for England.... f***ing brilliant... What, England's batting coach Andy Flower? Yeh, got him out."
That's the only reason.

GEO TV (a Pak channel) are presenting the matches live too. Saw the SA vs Eng one tonight. Can't remember the name of one commentator, the other was Moin Khan - best way to follow the match was to have the sound turned off (not just because of the annoying nameless commentator, but because GEO ads are the worst in the world).
