England v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Southampton, Jun 16-20
Shocking forumming that there's no thread for this. Shame on everyone except me.
Eng from: Strauss*, Cook, Trott, Pietersen, Bell, Morgan, Prior+, Broad, Swann, Tremlett, Anderson, Finn
Jimmah for Finnah I guessah.

Re: England v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Southampton, Jun 16-20
Might be some despicable Welsh weather around...
Re: England v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Southampton, Jun 16-20
Supposed to be flat again.
If there's dodgy weather around, England might be grateful for the Lankan implosion in Cardiff.
I'd stick with Broady myself rather than Finn, which is what I guess they'll do.

Disappointing if it is a road. Rose Bowl used to be spicy as. Shame if they've blandified themselves to fit in with all the other international wickets.
Remember when wickets had character?

If we're doing visual representations of those brave British boys, let me shamelessly dust off some old japes...
Etc. You know. You were there.
Never did have one for Morgan...

Sri Lankan team is also in, a few surprises here I must say. But they've decided to call on the old guard, and who can blame them?

Haaa this is the best way a Test thread has ever started out, here or at C4. F*cking immense.

The thing is they're all brilliant, the films the first time around and all of the lookeelikies, but I think my favourite is Wettimuny. It's bloody lovely

Cheers fellas, had to resort to some vintage 'Lankans as i'll be damned if anyone can get anything funny out of Samaraweera, Herath, Sangakkara or Jayawardene.
I swear Hashan Tillakaratne is a dead ringer for someone, but I can't work out who it is.
Any takers?

Wettimuny is genius. All the Sri Lankan ones are perfect. Is that Ben Kingsley as Gandhi for Atapattu?
Don't get Alastair Cook/Malcolm McDowell and Jonathan Trott ones?

Yep, its a young Ben Kingsley, but don't think he's playing Gandhi in the photo (might be wrong, never seen the film).
Cook is for the eyelashes. For Trott imagine what the crease would look like if he batted for 5 days.
Re: England v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Southampton, Jun 16-20
Thinking about it the stands would probably be strewn with fatigued corpses and people attempting to shoot themselves in the foot too so they would be allowed out if Trott batted for 5 straight days.
