Re: West Indies v India, 1st Test, Jamaica, June 20-24, 2011
Watched a bit this morning, after Simmons got out in a peach of an over from Ishant. A bunch of indippers then a perfect legcutter that beat him all ends up and crashed into his off-stump. Quality.
326 seems way too many for the Ganjas, but Shiv looks solid as a rock and Bravo, though a bit loose-looking, hit some classy shots. If these two can occupy the crease for much of the 1st session then the Bannies will get very nervous.
7 wickets in hand, less than 200 required. Could be a classic Test match finish.

Another great knock from Dravid. Looks like he is the only guy tailormade for this tour in the whole team.
Dhoni should kick himself for playing that shot. WI should kick their ownselves for dropping Dravid so early. Indians should kick their ownselves for refusing DRS after seeing Bhajji's LBW. Hell, I should kick myself for realizing that the test had started a day too late. Completely missed the first innings. Damn you IPL. Put me off any TV cricket completely. We should all kick BCCI for extended IPLs and ridiculous excuses for rejecting technology. All Indian fans should kick Indian stars like SRT [sad but true], Yuvraj, Sehwag, Zaheer & Gambhir for playing a whole meaningless IPL with injuries and fatigue and then skipping national duty for same. I mean how many tests has SRT left to play in his kitty now anyways that he should have skipped this? His real records lie here and to snub it so completely like this? That too for not having the balls to refuse IPL?
Geez, you wouldn't know India were World Cup champions and the number one ranked test team, would you........
The Indian players are all but contractually obliged to play in the IPL by the BCCI, who desperately need the top stars to be involved in order for the IPL to be a financial success.
Sachin had no real alternative but to rest from this series, considering India's schedule right through until the end of the Australia tour in February.
Sorry Trev but I have to take any suggestion that says it is important to play 2 months of gash in IPL due to contractual obligations and then to skip test cricket to rest for a busy schedule with a pinch of salt. BCCI has really screwed the players and cricket and player priorities big time. If role models like Sachin can be bought over and his priorities tested than what hope do the rest have? What message does it send youngsters who looked up to him for commitment and pride for playing for country? Sorry. But not buying it!

I enjoyed the 30 minute rant by a passionate West Indies supporter towards the Windies dressing room. It was funny because he'd say his bit, then walk away, and then think of something else that was bugging him, and then walk back and get it all out, and then walk away again, and then come back, "Oh , and another thing...." whilst mimicking a perfect forward defensive shot his his arm etc. Good to see that the passion for cricket in the West Indies is still there.

195 runs and 7 wickets, with Bravo and Chanderpaul at the crease and Nash to come. Not a good feeling.

Ahhh, I haven't heard your reverse-woofing for a while.

Rather amusing that some forummers were actually worried about losing to the Windies.

What a load of piss. Pathetic dismissals, actually. Pathetic.
Re: West Indies v India, 1st Test, Jamaica, June 20-24, 2011
This is one massive hope for the future and a gnarled old veteran and they give it away like that? Awful.

Mishra will need to take the rest of the wickets if he wants to keep his place in the side for the next test.

No dodgy Indian satelitte streams for me today, back in Yorkshire and lying in bed with glorious Sky Sports HD beamed into my room.
Shame this game ain't gonna last very long.

Jebus, that was a massive six. Next one wasn't bad either!

Yeah. Shame he's doing this when there's no pressure on him. Like some lusty tailender.........

Maybe he'll finally play a captain's innings.

Hmmm, not sure there's no pressure. If these two can get the deficit into double figures its game on again.
Re: West Indies v India, 1st Test, Jamaica, June 20-24, 2011
Oh dear - why didn't he just slog it? It had worked so far.
