I think Zog said 73 more hyperbolic JAMODIs before the 1st Test.

After Mendis ripping through the Aussies in the T20s you would have thought they wouldn't have been the pushover they currently seem to be. Their batting has been disappointing and their bowling has lacked bite.

Indeed Red. I tipped Aus not to win a game on the tour after that debacle. I'm glad to be proven wrong. Midge, Bolly and D'oh have looked good with the ball and Watto, Punter and Pup outstanding with the bat since the gash cricket games.Red wrote:After Mendis ripping through the Aussies in the T20s you would have thought they wouldn't have been the pushover they currently seem to be. Apparently this series is between the #1 and #2 ODI sides.
You couldn't make it up.

It was more a hyperbolic 73 than hyperbolic matches, but I guess the sentiment is the same...skully wrote:I think Zog said 73 more hyperbolic JAMODIs before the 1st Test.

There is a real conundrum tonight. Do i watch the Cricket or the new episode of Top Gear?
I think TG has it.

If only there was some sort of contraption whereby one could record one TV program while watching another...Big Dog wrote:There is a real conundrum tonight. Do i watch the Cricket or the new episode of Top Gear?

Zip and zap, BD. Will make both a bit more interesting.
Do you have Clarkson and May and Teh Hamster in the Aussie-broadcast Top Gear. or is it an All-Oz-fronted version? If so, think of JC as the new Botham (the new JC?). That'll get you scuttling back to the cricket.

The Lankans have put up a bit of a score at last.
Not a killer score by any means, but made a match of it.

Pretty good comeback by the Aussies after a flying start by the Lankans. As Pete alludes, Bolly done good. 4 40-odd off his 10 stemmed the flow + some late good bowling by Bung limited the damage. 287 is a bit of an ask, and Watto has gone early, so this one will be tough for the Aussies.

Haddin cleaned up after a sluggish single figure score. Time for him to be punted - open with Bog, and give Tim Payne a go at no. 7.
Inevitably, he will make a big score in the next game.

Lazy shot to a slower ball by Drunky - gawn. Aus 3-50 and shot.

Re: Sri Lanka v Australia, 3rd ODI, Hambantota, 16 August, 2011
Haddit has failed in all five games in SL so far. After being dropped from the short form game last season, i can't understand why he is back again. One can only assume its because Paine has had so little cricket in the last twelve months. Still...Paine had a reasonable tour in the 'A' side & should have been brought in to let Haddit focus on the tests.
Re: Sri Lanka v Australia, 3rd ODI, Hambantota, 16 August, 2011
Aye BD. And exactly what Smiffy adds to the side is beyond me.
Has any semblence of brains and commonsense in the Aus NSP been irrevocably replaced by stoopidity and overt obstinance?
If they think Smith is the way of the future, send him back to Shield and let him earn the respect of his national captain with some consistent FC performance.
