Yeah, I think they'll flick the offie (he was ordinary) and bring Mendis in.Brass Monkey wrote:SL need to get one or both of their crackerjack leggies in.

Nasser reckons he'll be ineffective on anything other than a raging turner. Think England had no probs with him because they could nearly treat him as a slow seam bowler. Seeming as their finger spin is shite, they may as well go with one or both of their promising leggies, Jeevan Mendis and Seekkuge Prasanna IMO.
Re: Sri Lanka v Australia, 2nd Test, Kandy, 8-12 Sep, 2011
Wow, missed this.
"Ricky Ponting's 100th Test win arrived in the nick of time to allow him to fly home for the birth of his second child, which will rule him out of the second Test starting in Kandy on Thursday. The reserve batsman Shaun Marsh is set to make his debut, while David Warner, previously seen as a Twenty20 specialist, will join the group as a standby player."
-------------------------------------------
Hope Bog goes OK in Kandy.
And suddenly GCS is a borderline Test player?? WTF??

was a perfect opportunity to get Katich back in, but of course that would have involved the NSP admitting that they were wrong ...
Good luck to Shaun Marsh. I hope the tour selectors use this as an opportunity to drop Hughes to 6.
Watson Marsh Khawaja Clarke Hussey Hughes Haddin Johnson Harris Copeland Lyon
looks better to me than
Watson Hughes Khawaja Clarke Hussey Marsh Haddin etc

Re: Sri Lanka v Australia, 2nd Test, Kandy, 8-12 Sep, 2011
Great news for Swampy! Hope he makes a sh!t load of runs to put pressure on the dubber/passengers in the side...and speaking of dubber/passengers...Warner?!? That ****** spud shouldn't be within a million miles of a Test squad. He's not fit to clean the used boxes of a Test batsman.
And WTF is all this negativity about Copeland? He did really well. Am loving the pressure he and Rhino can apply with accurate bowling.
Hope Ffud kicks on and his 1st innings bowling wasn't a fluke.

Maybe Watson can drop down to six if he's going to bowl more, especially on these pitches.

The selectors are mental. David Warner one injury away from a Test cap. That's after 9 FC games in a 5 year career.
First Beer, now Warner. Mental.

Yes, I must admit it disappoints me a little. That a previously military style unit, with a production line of talent can just be thrusting forth such unknowns. That's so Pakistan-style straw-clutching. Shame on you Australia, I thought better of you.

Drunky out to attend the birth of he and wife Rianna's 2nd child. Bog to come in. Fragile?
Aus otherwise unchanged.
Lanka must bring in Dan's mate Ajantha Mendis, shirley? Randiv was dross.

So, Marsh at 3? Isn't he mainly an opener? Or Watson to go in at first drop?

Interesting conundrum, Pete. Koaja batted at 3 on debut in Sydney in Ponting's absence. The team actually has 5 players with opening experience - Fuse, Watto, Koaja, Paris and Bog. And Clarke opened for quite a while in JAMODIs. And Haddit is the current ODI opener with Watto, so the whole top 7 has expereince up the order.
