Yuvraj Singh diagnosed with cancer
Geez, terrible news. But thankfully it is apparently 100% curable. Best of luck to him, and let's hope he's back on the field soon.

He's had a hard run since the world cup. I hope he recovers well and gets back to perfect health soon.

Tough break for the young guy. Prognosis sounds promising, though.
Re: Yuvraj Singh diagnosed with cancer

Re: Yuvraj Singh diagnosed with cancer
This story seems to have been around for some time.
Thankfully it seems to be a (potentially curable) lymphoma or similar rather than a primary lung cancer, which would be dire.
Simon O'Donnell is a lymphoma survivor, if I remember correctly.

Aye, the story has been around for a couple of months. Hope he recovers quickly and with ease.
Re: Yuvraj Singh diagnosed with cancer
Except up until now the tumour they found wasn't considered cancerous.

not so - it's just that the pathetic clueless media, who talk about 'non-malignant cancers' and 'cancer infections', muddy the waters for the average punter.
They were talking about possible lymphoma a good two months ago. It seems they have now amended the diagnosis to 'seminoma', a germ cell or primitive tumour. Basically these reports mean that Yuvraj has a testicular cancer in his chest. It's curable. He'll probably need chemotherapy and radiotherapy for it.

Aye, sad news indeed.
Let's hope he makes a full recovery - though frankly I doubt his return to the international stage will beckon ... what with BanIndia's "new" talent and all that !!!

He'll be back. He's going to be better than Sobers.
Henry wrote:I've always thought Yuvraj was an outstanding talent, and some of his strokeplay is reminiscent of Garry Sobers. Obviously he hasnt achieved the same success as Sobers, but I really think it's time India considered dropping Laxman from the test team and playing Yuvraj. He gives India an X factor not just with his batting, but he's very good in the field as well.
His time has come.

As long as he's just better, I think everyone would be more than happy.

A) "Reminiscent" being the key word.
B) Never do I say "better than".
C) "Obviously he hasn't achieved the same success as Sobers."- FACT
D) My comment about Laxman stands.

But not the best thread to re-hash it in, perhaps.
Agree with Dello - hope the treatment works.
