England 2007
Batting:
Kevin Pietersen: 1007 runs @ 50.3 (4x100 1x50)
Michael Vaughan: 761 runs @ 47.5 (2x100 3x50)
Alastair Cook: 923 runs @ 43.9 (3x100 5x50)
Ian Bell: 777 runs @ 40.8 (1x100 7x50)
Paul Collingwood: 765 runs @ 40.2 (2x100 3x50)
Matt Prior: 562 runs @ 40.1 (1x100 4x50)
Andrew Strauss: 432 runs @ 28.8 (0x100 3x50)
Ravi Bopara: 42 runs @ 8.4 (0x100 0x50)
Bowling:
Matthew Hoggard: 12 wickets @ 26.6
Paul Collingwood: 8 wickets @ 27.8
Chris Tremlett: 13 wickets @ 29.69
Ryan Sidebottom: 29 wickets @ 32.2
Monty Panesar: 41 wickets @ 32.3
Steve Harmison: 24 wickets @ 35.6
James Anderson: 19 wickets @ 40.7
Liam Plunkett: 7 wickets @ 45.0
Ravi Bopara: 1 wicket @ 81.0
Kevin Pietersen: 1 wicket @ 129
Andrew Flintoff, Owais Shah, Chris Read, Stuart Broad and Sajid Mahmood played one Test each in 2007.
You would think that, with six batsmen scraping over 40 for the year and five bowlers taking their wickets at 20s or low-30s, England must've had a pretty solid run.
Those four "Tests" against the West Indies totally skewed their numbers, but I imagine they're the "facts" Michael Vaughan will be citing as positives when he surveys the wreckage of a quite miserable year for English cricket.

Re: England 2007
You know you're in trouble when Paul Collingwood is second on the bowling averages. SiBo was our best bowler of 2007, imo. Could have had about 10 more wickets if certain people (Prior) had held their catches. Those stats also make you wonder why the f*ck we dumped Tremlett but stuck with Anderson.
Another thing- Strauss averaged 28 and yet some here are claiming that he will be Englands saviour in New Zealand. Yet again a case of a players stock rising when he's not in the England team.

Re: England 2007
Given that these days it seems that the mere act of donning an England cap makes a player's performance drop dramatically in standard, it's hardly surprising that blokes who aren't in the team llok like world beaters.Yet again a case of a players stock rising when he's not in the England team.
