It's a pretty weak tail. I'll be surprised if any of them average over 20 in their Test batting careers. We just bowled piss-poorly overall and gifted them runs. Can't tell you how relieved I am that they shat it.

Didn't take their chance as they should have.
Broad was rubbish! Swann inneffective.
Swann is the best spinner in the world. Swanngenius says so.
92 overs between Test wickets suggests competition must be dire. Surely the Bangle spinners are better? Forget the Pakistani chucker ...
Performing at the Olympics would have shown us all how brilliant he really is..

Most people(who count) are happy with Ajmal's action and 2 D pictures aren't going to change that( terrible way to judge some one's action)
Only Bob Wills and M Holding are NOT pleased, Bob Wills is too bitter to count so that only leaves Micheal Holding.

It's a good job we don't need KP, otherwise without him we might be struggling for runs..

Lead of 200 in a Test match for skipper to enforce f/o, Naeem, so we need to male 110 our first "safety" target.

He made a half ton in the tour match too which might have fine-tuned his batting for the test.

So what happened this time - good bowling, or a top order crumbling to reputation?

This pair has restored some order. Wonder how the England batting would have fared had they faced first up with the cloud and extra grass. Hot conditions today are more conducive to batting. Meant to be hot over the weekend too.
Has been a poor series for Strauss but the top order in general hasn't excelled.

Indeed. Not exactly chanceless, but generally judicious, unexpectedly sound technique, and better still, good temperament in a crisis.

Bell 50. Has certainly ridden his luck, but shown balls (if you pardon the expression) too.

Highest England 5th wicket partnership v. SA at Lord's beating Warner & Woolley's 112 in 1912 Triangular Tournament as PeterCS well knows!

Well, I will not lie to you all... I thought Malteser balls and Minstrel balls would invert their testes to be negative volume but they stuck at it. Still, something needed to happen, because Lead Foot I, Lead Foot II, No Score and the youngster pantsed their yams. Doesn't prove Bressy Lad's twat point though. We're not better for Bairstow, but all credit to him.
