This sort of statement makes it seem like it's rocket science. It's the most basic of rules in the book.

Two Metre Peter met some piemen of around his size
Said Peter to the similar piemen "Let me taste your pies"
Said the piemen to Two Metre Peter "Show us first your penis"
Said Peter to the Pommie piemen "Take THAT - I am a genius"

...unless you're an English fast bowler. Remember how long it took Broad to work out that banging it in short wasn't getting him wickets? And even now he still regresses sometimes. Finn is now falling into the same trap. I'd love to know what Saker tells them before they go out onto the field.

Two Meter Peter's last stand. His salad days. How privileged we are.
Re: New Zealand v England, 3rd Test, Auckland, 22-26 March, 2013
He's two meter... and he's a Peter. Six runs.

New Zealand conditions - should have seen it from the start.
The stage was set for Trott, with his wibbly-wobbly wonders, cross-seam, fullish length on middle and off.
Would have run through the team, Chris Harris style.
Possibly a bit late for that now.

Peter Fulton: A natural mis-timer of the ball through the offside (c) Mike Atherton. LOL

cripes the poms have been lucky this series....shows the gap between the saffies and the rest - given how the saffies toyed with the snoozies

Hmm, 1-127. So only NZ's sending in in T1 worked out of the 3 "we'll bowl"s. Snoozies rolled England for 167 on that occasion, but England made 465 after being sent in in T2.

None of the Indian spinners or pace bowlers are anything special at all, and how has Aus fared against them
It stands to reason they will fare just as bad in the English swinging conditions against a decent pace attack.

that was not the subject of discussion...but you have no disagreement from me...other than you have one very good bowler with a ltd support crew

These have been such dead pitches. I won't make any judgements on the bowling....

I thought ICC had some regulations on pitches, that they have the power to fine venues and what not.

I was accused of contrariness the last time I mentioned that England's bowling attack is on the skids.
(on the skids - is that even a saying?)
You're all on the bandwagon now, I see. You're all in my thrall.

Given that the ICC have had to give NZ hand-outs of late to help them fund their bankrupt cricket development, I don't know what the point would be in fining them.

So this will be 450 playing 600.....

and as for on the skids....the poms have long way to go before they reach the nadir of skid row...with watson about to be captain, Oz has taken the jackhammer to the floor of skid row to plumb unheard of new depths

And he has lived down to those pitifully low expectations with aplomb. He is, without doubt, the most "something or other" player in the history of the game.

Matches like these will go a long way to increase interest and cricket revenue then! No wonder they are going bankrupt...who would want to watch this compared to rugby - the handful of die hard cricket fans being the exception.

You're discounting the Bairstow factor.
450 vs 450.
Re: New Zealand v England, 3rd Test, Auckland, 22-26 March, 2013
Did ICC fine that venue where they had the Lanka Bangla run fest - blacklist or something? I am sure they did not.

I was suggesting on this very forum a couple of months back that NZ might restore him. Was rubbished for my extreme pains.
