Re: 2013 Masters
Had to chuckle when he was asked what he screamed after he sunk the putt on the last of the regulation 72 holes. For a moment he couldn't think, then an Aussie journo reminded him "C'MON AUSSIE!!!!!".
He said with a big grin "I'm not sure Steve (his NZ caddy) appreciated me yelling that at him."

There's all kinds of jiggery that can be tweaked before it leaves the camera.

Good decision for his caddie to leave Woods.

This is one of my all-time favourite sporting moments.
It could've been one of mine too, but I nodded off between Cabrera's approach to the second play off hole and everyone hugging and high-fiving Scott.

Aye, goes without saying unfortunately. Boring bastards, and featured groups are also the pits.Mick Sawyer wrote:tricycle wrote: I'm still busy jerking off at Olesen's last two rounds. Good stuff.
He has some game trike. Sadly, we still see too much Tiger/fat Phil & not enough of others playing well at the time.
Heh, Harrington's was also an intent viewer who saw the ball move half an inch when the ball was being placed. Bad day for referee people too.G.Wood wrote:I only just read that Woods's illegal drop was only picked up because a tv viewer rang up and reported it.
Apparently he was calling from Australia, had an english accent and muttered something about a bad day.
Must be the worst Masters for Seppos. Only 3 in the top 10
And the officials bending over to accommodate for his sake. Next time I'll just sign a scorecard of 36 and have a streak around Poona club.Mick Sawyer wrote:The more I think about the "ruling' his drop was legal the more p*ssed I get. How the f*ck is 2 yards as "near as possible"?
It's no surprise Woods didn't uphold well established ethical protocol.

I'm not sure it was his decision & Woods has made his way back to # 1.

Re: 2013 Masters
Always good to see a player who has self-destructed in a major come back and win one, you never want someone to be remembered for something like that.
Could well be more to come for him now, though the amount of players the commentators tip to win multiple majors gives the impression there's about 20 of them available per year...

Well done to the Banjo, only 4 Australians in the field and they get 3 in the top 5.

You could make a lot of money through commissions on your woofing. The Masters was just the second major played since that prediction.

A go on his girlfriend would suffice.
Or is he not with Ana anymore?

I'd like to take this opportunity to toot my own horn by re-posting my remarks from that thread:

Golf is notoriously hard to predict because there are so many variables, but I'd be surprised if Scott finished his career without winning a major (in the same way I'm surprised Montgomerie never won one).
Scott has finished second in two majors in the past two years. His game has been very consistent and if he keeps putting himself up there it's likely he'll win one at some stage. Nick Price, Curtis Strange and Greg Norman all went on to win their first major after experiencing horrible collapses.
Scott displayed nerves of steel in last year's Masters - unfortunately for him Schwartzel went on a birdie blitz over the last four holes.
If Scott does win a major down the track it will be all that much sweeter because of what happened last week. It's why suffering is an integral part of sport.
