Jason Day had a brilliant round and was coming home with a wet sail. Just missed a birdie put on 17 after pumping a 300 m drive to within 100 m of the green. Had he sunk it he would've dumped all the +4s (including the 14 year old Chinese kiddie) from Rounds 3 & 4.

All 4 Aussies at -2 or better. Senden missed a couple of short ones coming home. Should've probably been on -4 instead of his current -2.

Get some European tour officials in there, they handle this drop situation regularly.

Harrington getting DQed after his ball moved half an inch on the green comes to mind though.

But going by the laws, 2 strokes is the prescribed penalty.

I guess that's if he received the penalty before signing the scorecard, and it wasn't brought up in Harrington's case till the next day?

The Laws seem a bit ambiguous, if they are as reported. And seem to have been interpreted somewhat generously on this occasion.

It will also presumably have helped Tiger's case - at least morally, if that counts - that he himself seems to have brought it up later.

Flimsy 33-7 adjudication, aye, given that he did find out after he'd signed a wrong scorecard.

Still, he, Adam Scott, Marc Leishman are in within striking distance of the lead. I fancy Angel Cabrera to win from here.

Sweet. Had $10 on Cabrera at 140s before the tournament. He is still paying 7s. Would be less if that cheating qunt Woods would do the honorable thing.
