So India to declare on 440/0 and win by an innings?

I guess I could come in and sledge the Windies, but Aus did so poorly when we toured, I'm reluctant.
Scene set for a SRT parting 100, shirley?

Innings win looks nearly on at this stage unless quick wickets fall tomorrow. How I wish BCCI has invited a stronger team like SA/Eng for this 'farewell' series.
If only SRT had walked with the same intent and positive frame of mind last one and half years in tests, as he did today...Nothing to lose this test. But not like after so many years there was anything to lose last year and some either. Â
Also is it just me or is it extremely annoying hearing Bhogle, Shastri, Gavaskar etc wax eloquent of SRT every word they utter even when he is taking stance or standing at non-striker's end or doing nothing at all?

You and every other sane cricket follower, the world over probably.Batman wrote:Innings win looks nearly on at this stage unless quick wickets fall tomorrow. How I wish BCCI has invited a stronger team like SA/Eng for this 'farewell' series.

Re: India v West Indies, 2nd Test, Mumbai, 14-18 November, 2013
But yeah today the sinking feeling has finally come. The end of the era. The last of the giants. SRT, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, Kumble. Sehwag also now seems done and unofficially retired. My youth started when Dravid and Ganguly made that elegant debut at Lords seemingly only yesterday and now it seems to be ending with the last of the giant retirements. You know you have grown old when you see Sachin Tendulkar retire from cricket. Today I miss dad with whom I saw many many tests on TV and had passionate debates with. I most miss staying up all night watching India play overseas in the middle of the night.
Even now all said and done, the 1998 & 2001 home series against Aus still seem the most iconic in my memory. Not even beating Pak in 2004 comes close to it.

Some say after you die you go to heaven. Or hell. Or there is really nothing. Or Moksh [salvation]. Or rebirth. Or some afterlife.
I just wish that when my time comes, I be wherever dad went so we can talk cricket again.Â

Imagine how Australians may have felt after Warne, Hayden, Gilchrist, Ponting, Hussey, Bevan, Slater, McGrath, Gillespie etc departed in quick succession.

ashtray is a decent bowler who along with ekoli tried on the last failed bannie tour to oz
re tendy...he has surely etched his name up there in the 10 all time best batsmen
in my time almost every country has produced a champ which has been a joy to watch...some of those that come to mind are-
nz - hadlee and m crowe
oz - lillee, TGM, punter, gilly, tgm
wi - holding , marshall, sobers, gibbs, lara
bannies- dev, sunny, tendy
stannies - akram, miandad, hanif m,imram
lankans - sanga, jaya, mumu*
zimbots - a flower, streak
saffies - g pollock, lindsay, richards, ntini
england - tuffers, barrington

Shillingford chucked OK in the last 30 minutes that I watched last night. He beat SRT a couple of times with his doosra. Looks like it's up to him to take 10 wickets cos no other Windian bowler looks like getting one.
500+ looks a good chance for India. The fans will obviously be hoping the Little Master gets a big 3-figure chunk of them.

I know it's only because of SRT but how great is it to see a full crowd in a Test in India. I last remember that from the 80s, Eden Gardens perhaps.

SRT has now entered the phase when he starts to bog down, poke and miss. Story of the last 2 years.
