We haven't had a Jay Appreciation thread for some time, and I thought it was overdue.


Not only has our brave Captain steered the good ship Bails over many a choppy water - only every so often deserting the helm to his cabinboy and "special friend" Lionel Fromage - he has consistently demonstrated rare sense and equanimity under pressure, rock-like calm amid the howling storm, maintained a remarkable fairness and impartial hauteur in all dealings with all crew, sea creatures, privateers and landlubbers alike.

What is more, he has radiated a striking brand of urbane humour, couched in his own coruscating dellovian language.

We are lucky to have a leader such as King Jay Wan (pronounced "Unn").

Though few of us have actually had the honour to make his acquaintance, I picture his leaderly face much on these lines   

Let us all fervently hope he must not be going before this virtual vessel finally slips beneath the waves.
