2 days of non stop rain would do it too.

Bloody hell, just caught up on yesterday's play. Played Herath.
And Sarfraz Ahmed. At least it keeps the Akmals out for a bit longer.

All over for Mahela. Out for 54. He leaves test cricket, trying to hit a six over mid on but skying it for the fielder to take the catch. Well played sir.

Question is whether SL will have enough runs to allow Herath to get a really massive match haul.

Aw, bad luck (or bad management) to Mahela. Well played on a fantastic career. Seems an odd way to get out with a day and a half left.

Wackies in front here. Lanka 5 down and only just over 220 ahead. Plenty of time left.

Almost a half-Bradman then... he is the closest to a 50 average of anyone who fell just short, beating England's GB Legge (who only played five Tests) by 0.01 and the next man on the list Inzamam by 0.24.JGK wrote:Finished with an average of 49.84.
Sri Lanka making a decent case for the number 3 ranking?

The last 13 wicket haul was Ntini in the Windies in 2005.

All over. Herath got 14. Well done him and Lanka.
Junaid didn't bat so 16 was never a chance.

Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 2nd Test, Colombo, 14-18 August, 2014
There was panicked speculation from Sri Lankan supporters yesterday when Sanga waved his bat to all parts of the ground after being dismissed for 58 that he was also about to announce his retirement from tests. The great man quickly squashed that speculation however, and said he got a bit caught up in the emotion of best mate Mahela's last test.
