The dubber press will find some way to use it as an excuse.

I don't think that's right. Hammond scored 563 in 2 Tests against the Snoozies in the 30s. And I think Jaya scored a stack as well in the batathon against India in the late 90s.
Earlier in the match Younis Khan set the record for the most runs in a two-Test series. His haul of 468 runs at 156 bettered the 403 Sachin Tendulkar hit against Australia in 2010.

the people responsible for selecting noshow at 3 should take some responsibility for expecting him to play at first drop...he will never play for Oz again...time also to move on from ginger, starc, lyon, siddle, sok. The overall Haddin performance through this series and the sooking over a shoulder that could have popped (show me the xrays) and the dropped catches and useless performance with the bat should mean he shd at best be consigned to grade cricket...it would be a travesty if he replaced Neville in the spiv line up
Lehmann was on the wireless just before defending the selections.
There are rumours of tension between Clarke and Lehmann over selections etc.
Was wondering when Boof was going to be mentioned. Just 6 months ago everyone on here was hailing him as the messiah.

And Hammond only had 2 knocks in that series.

Boof is the messiah compared with the twit who was there before him

Some might say Boof only succeeded because of the work done by Arthur.

Probably the opposite of the hypocrites who praise Boof when the team is doing well, and blame the players when the team is doing badly.

Pakistan proved far better than our team in this series. The selection of NoShow at first drop was bizarre. Selection panel mess up...but it did not affect the outcome of this match where we have been thoroughly outplayed

Aye. The obvious reason is the devastating form of Mitchell Johnson on responsive pitches supported by the superb consistency and courage of Ryan Harris.
The Aust batting has been consistently shithouse for 3 seasons now. Neither Arthur nor Boof have been able to fix that.

That said - Boof was one of the selectors to bring MJ back. Aust might have won the 2013 Ashes if Mickey has selected MJ.

Fair comment, but wasn't he coming back from injury? And how many here supported the recall?

Winning and even surviving series v Pakistan (and India) overseas has always been a major, major challenge for Australian teams, even when we were relatively strong.
It's not the coach's fault; it's a longstanding systemic inability to adapt to slower, lower pitches where the ball does not come on; a lack of patience that afflicts our batsmen and bowlers alike.

Johnson did play a Test in India before being sent home with Homeworkgate. Not sure if he was injured for the Ashes tour (he did play the JAMODIs).
Yes, many here were against MJs recall - hence the brilliance of the decision by Boof.

That last point is an NSR trap right.

They probably took this from a stat that was shown during the telecast. It referred to Most Runs in a Two Test Series Against Australia.
