Daylight between him and anyone else with regards to bunch sprint finishes, I think the next bloke is on 22.

Another win by a breakaway rider, or in this case a breakaway from the breakaway. Great ride by Cummings.

Good night to watch. A chance for Porte?

Re: 2016 Tour de France
FArk me - it's going to be a tough day when the Col de Tourmalet is in the first half of the stage.
Seems to me that the stage would have been better planned if Lourdes was at the end of it.
Interesting that it isn't a mountain top finish. Are the organisers trying to nobble Froome?

He'll need to do something soon.

Re: 2016 Tour de France
Froome made it look easy over the mountains. Hard to see anyone stopping him now.
Re: 2016 Tour de France
Incredible descent by Froome. Still, only a 23 second gain overall

Re: 2016 Tour de France
Mass start finishes. Didn't have many sprints earlier. Darrigade holds that spot. I assume he didn't win any TTs as he raced alongside Anquetil. Saw Leducq also mentioned, but he raced a couple of tours where all stages apart from individual TTs were team TTs.vilkrang wrote:Daylight between him and anyone else with regards to bunch sprint finishes, I think the next bloke is on 22.

Another stage for the climbers. Interesting to see if Froome can back up of if Yates can grab the yellow for a few days.
Re: 2016 Tour de France
An amazing stat is that after 8 stages there has been only one abandonment

Great stuff again, esp the last 10k or so in a hail storm.

Tough stage which saw 30c temps plummet to torrential rain & hail at the finish. Great ride by Dumoulin which also saw the retirement of Contador. Good stage from Porte although he is still 2:10 minutes behind.

It didn't...
Buy Mathews is a bit like Freire without his flair. Should end up with a San Remo and world championship too. Quality rider.

Ventoux stage shortened due to wind.
Certainly didn't expect that attack by Froome. Very good stage.
