Not sure that’s right, looks like $41m total over 5 years for the #1 pick as far as I can see. Rookie contracts have been cut back since the old days when they could sink a franchise for years if the player was a bust.

Even Lamar Jackson’s league-record contract signed just before the draft is “only” $52m a year average…

So, the New York Jets star signing Aaron Rodgers plays his first game for them. On the 4th snap, he is sacked, has trouble standing, leaves the field & has a suspected torn Achilles. At his age, that might be the end of his season & possibly career. great buy!
