Cracker of an opening to the NFL season today with Denver winning the Superbowl replay by 21-20. The Carolina kicker missed a 50 yard shot on the bell to win it.

So Sportsfan were full of shit yet again. They continually write totally inaccurate reports. Unfortunately Telstra use them for their Sports news & they appear when I check emails. Recently they had a headline saying Adam Scott was leading the Aussie charge in a PGA tournament but when I clicked on the link, the story mentioned that he was ten shots from the lead. FFS

Good start to the season so far. Close finishes, comeback wins & some huge plays. Oakland successfully attempting a two point conversion to win the game rather than play safe.

Meanwhile, the Patriots lead the Cardinals at halftime despite having Brady unavailable through suspension & Gronkowski out injured.

College Football
Cal Bears Running Back, Vic Enwere was racing away to a certain touchdown which would have made sure of victory in their game against Texas when he he let go of the ball one yard before the line. The ball was picked up by one of the Texas players but contentiously the officials decided that this didn't happen immediately & Cal retained possession. Texas were denied the opportunity to win the game.

Carson Wentz is the fifth rookie quarterback since the merger to start & win his team's first two games of the season & the first to do it without a turnover.

Fair enough - don't forget rookie starting QBs are a relatively recent phenomenon. You usually only have it for the very early picks because they are the worst teams with the greatest needs. Later QB picks are usually for backup or as project players.

So even if you get a gun college QB, you probably still have a crappy team around him.

Arizona field goal kicker misses a sitter to win the game. It hit the post & rebounded back into the field.

Dontari Poe, the modern version of The Fridge, comes on near the end of the game & everyone expects to attempt to rush for a TD but instead he threw a pass. It looked more like a basketball shot but still had the desired result.

Clemson running away with the Fiesta Bowl, currently leading Ohio State 31 - 0 with 8 minutes left.

So the National Championship game will be Alabama Crimson Tide vs Clemson Tigers. The same two teams met in this game last year.
