Don't think for a minute it's good for the English game either. For every Kolpak player played, there's a place denied to an England-qualified player.

198 County places up for grabs. Take out one genuine overseas player and that's 180. When we were strongest, it was a product of many useful Kolpaks giving competition to young players, passing on their experience and raising the standard of County matches. You can't say the likes of Abbott and de Lange can harm the County game. They're good bowlers, who'll test out the technique of the youngsters far more than your dibblers

Abbot's bowling stats for Worcs in 2016 for the record:

FC 75 - 17 - 249 - 1

List A 20 - 3 - 112 - 4

T20 7.5 - 0 - 109 - 1

De Lange last played a test when?

Aye, De Lange is rubbish as he cant get in the SA team. It's not as though we are blessed with fast bowlers.

Looking at the number of overs Abbott bowled it looks like 2 games in each format. Not much of a sample size.

The white quota. Smile

I once read an article by a SA journalist who tipped him to become the next big thing but he never kicked on.

Test average of 22. You must have some seriously good bowlers at Worcs.
