Blimey twice in two balls - this could catch on.

Well Moeen - I think your best bet is to attack Lyon as he looks like he's going to get any leftie that just tries to play orthodox/defensive.

Like lemmings walking off a cliff......
England’s left handlers desperately need a change of strategy against Lyon. If they keep poking and prodding eventually they’ll have a ball with their name on it.

Mo to go cheaply by the looks.
Bairstow too.
Woakes to be the hero then. Hollywood couldn't write it and they won't because it's never going to happen.

50 and out from Joe Root as usual. He's just Mark Butcher in an era of shitter bowlers.

Aussies won't have to chase more than 150.

Game looks pretty even. These two could take the lead to 200 which would be matchwinning.

All over in my view.
Belatedly Brittle does something. Well bowled Elmer.

Oui, poms in big trouble. They need their lauded tail to bail them out.

Brain dead. More batsmen giving it away to the short ball on a featherbed.

True. Aust has an appalling record of chasing small totals plus they will be batting on a fifth day wicket.
Re: Australia v England, 1st Test, Brisbane, 23-27 November, 2017
probably 50 too many, 120 seems to be around our limit in a 4th innings chase

Pretty one-sided. England may not offer a lot of resistance this tour. Not that we're a great side but they haven't shown much yet. The attack looks devoid of demons. Maybe they need something to stoke(s) the fire.

Yeah...i'm surprised we are doing it so easily.
Re: Australia v England, 1st Test, Brisbane, 23-27 November, 2017
Well this is depressing. England need a rethink fast. Unfortunately they just don’t seem to have the players either in or out of the squad to make a difference. I’d be tempted to give Garton a go. At least he bowls left arm, and he’s quick. Chances are he’ll be all over the place but at least he offers something different rather than straight up and down right arm medium pace nobodies Woakes and Ball. He could get on a bit of a roll and change the momentum of a game.
But yeah, the batting is the biggest problem. They just don’t seem to have the hunger or the mindset to push for big scores. Root’s poor conversion rate is a real issue for a player of his ability. He just seems to relax a little bit after passing 50. I don’t know whether that’s subconsciously or not.
Stoneman is decent, but he’s in danger of being the next Carberry at this rate- resists bravely for 2 hours, but ultimately only averages mid 20s for the series. Malan and Vince don’t look for the singles enough, and are too leaden-footed.
As we know, the only other batsman in the squad is Gary Ballance, which sucks big time.
Looks like being another 5-0 unfortunately. Any bold changes won’t be made until after Perth, when. The series is already gone.
