Pucks story of being at his worst while flogging WA is compelling listening. Will see if I can find the Fox podcast and post it later.
Not one Warpie in the squad or CA xi. Interesting.
There are a couple in the JAMODI squad.
Plenty would say that is where they belong.

I agree with BD though (albeit from a totally amateur perspective), it's hard to see how he needs the extra pressure of a Test gig and all the attention that comes from it when he was so recently in a dark place mentally.
Given that he has no current form, his selection would seem to be an act of pure desperation by the selectors.
Re: Australia v Sri Lanka, 1st Test, Brisbane, 24-28 January, 2019
I had no idea Puck was a head case. The story of him not remembering much of his 240 odd due to his depression earlier in the season is a bit scary.
Is CA sure he's OK now?

no changes to the bowling lineup?! what a load of tosh. I guess we can't drop either Starc (hoping he gets back in form) or Hazlewood (a bad look to drop both vice captains).

Interesting to see Puck get a nod, given his previously mentioned mental health issues. Speaking from experience it is something that never truly leaves you, and can come back when least expected.
Finally the form player in the Domestic comp in Monty is selected.
Puzzled why Siddle got selected again? Specialist 12th Man??

I would have thought that was Wade but the selectors are obviously holding a grudge.

Easily guessed seeing as his name is Will *. Agree his selection is Hail Mary and given his recent mental health issues, no great favour to him most likely.

Hohns was asked if the NSP got any selections wrong in the Test series against India, and said: "You never admit that you get it wrong..."
what a grub!

Made a 60 in the last Shield game after his break. He'll be fine.

Agree, BA. I'm well over my longish stint with the black dog but you still have to resist its return. Aus's recent form has been a challenge.

I hope Handshake and cbnlg show some sense and don't field Puck in the newbie position at short leg. His most recent concussion came when fielding there. Poor bugger has had a heap playing footy and cricket. Zeus knows, it may relate to the depression.
Personally I am delighted he looks like he will get a debut. I am really looking forward to the Hobart game. I am equally looking forward to seeing how Sanga fares. In this miserable period it is great to look forward to seeing how two youngsters go.
For me after a summer of putting up with the Bane brothers, this Hobart game is the first I class as a "must watch".

No-one beyond the duffer selectors thought the Bane Brothers had promise beyond the ignominy they duly delivered.
Neither of those turkeys could deliver a decent Thanksgiving feed.
In SA terms , I see your Duminy and raise you with the duddiness of the Hollow Man.
You have correctly made the point about all rounders and done so over many years. Given the choice between Duminy, Aquacker and Hollow Man who would you vote for as the all rounder in your team.

At 35 and a Marsh, it'd be ridiculous to take him to England. Jimmeh would make mincemeat of him.
It's time to pick and stick with the youngsters. Perhaps a hint of 1989 might eventuate.
Ugh, England are so gonna smash us.

You have Waugh Sr and Warne. Why aren't they batting/bowling coaches and grooming young kids at academy?

Still thrilling, V, but the AB-Sunny has certainly made great strides as one of the world's premier Test contests.

Until a couple of months ago they would have had to report to Pat Howard. Can you see either of those two being up for that?

HA!! Warnie would've told the arrogant Howard to go fark himself. And the mighty SRW would've just mumbled "cock" under his breath.
