Re: Australia v Sri Lanka, 1st Test, Brisbane, 24-28 January, 2019
another decent score from Puc in a one dayer yesterday for Puc.
Admittedly it was 50 over white ball tho I still like he has told the Tower of BaBeL to fark off.

Renshaw, Burns, Loosechange & Puc all fail in Hobart. Wicket could be playing up again but Patterson seems to be handling it ok.

About the same standard.
You would not want either.
Maybe Ptomaine if he bowls well in Tas.

Patto or Jhye would be better replacements

Patto is injured, out for rest of BBL. Maybe Tremain?

Meanwhile, good tons by Patterson & Doran save us from embarrassment.

Hey BD, did you go to this or planning to today or tomorrow?
Seems the pitch was lively early but then flattened out. Oz offered a pretty generous declaration giving the Ranks a good chance for batting practice.

Hoping to get there tomorrow. I think they had agreed to declare after reaching target number of overs.

Have fun.
Had a look at the highlights. The Puc and Sanger dismissals were near identical. Silly kids. Neither got over a hook on a rising ball.

Purple has crocked himself. Replaced in the squad by Jye Richardson.

Oh well, good luck to him. Averages around 23 for his wickets in First Class cricket, which is pretty respectable.
Unusually for an Oz quick he is a shorty. Still, Malcolm Marshall was a shorty as well and he was pretty useful.
If it comes down to a choice between Siddle and Richardson, the latter must be selected. Tremain, of course, should be selected ahead of both. 'Ptomaine' swings the new ball and gets cut as well. The Gabba offers him ideal conditions.

The Scrabblers Nightmare (that would be your Jyhe R) shows promise (along with an uncanny ability to stay fit, so far) but agree The Event should get a shot first. Also agree Siddle is just about griddled, in all forms.

Shame it isn't a FC match.

What sort of road did it develop into. Not one completed innings. Good for KP and to a lesser extent Puc and Loosechange getting some batting practice. Good also to see Dutchy picking up a few wickets.

It was agreed by both sides that they would declare after completing a certain number of overs.

A result would have been irrelevant. Both teams (and our selectors) just wanted some batting practice.

KP2 added to Test squad according to SEN radio.
