Just got back from a pretty Xmas Holiday with the family to Vanuatu.

Not a bad place if you are looking for something a little more traditional than, say. Fiji. Standing at the edge of a live volcano was pretty cool.

Given the break proves to be less than happy for many folk, that title is a misnomer.

I suspect a very small minority of Oz folk would have trundled to Church this morning. Maybe a few more handfuls would be saying Grace. Happily Christianity is at best a side bar issue in this country.

I explain it to my son when I'm putting him through re-education after his mother and aunty have hauled him off to mass, thusly. As an athiest I don't feel bad about celebrating a time of the year where everyone seems to be a bit nicer to everyone else. I even like carrols.
