Re: Australian Open - tennis 2020
Well, saves a wasted Sunday morning watching him inevitably lose to Djokovic I suppose...
While it’s great to see how he has come back from what appeared a career-ending injury, I don’t want to see a long drawn out finish to his career where he’s losing to journeymen and struggling to reach the second week of majors. But I guess he sees there’s still something of a power vacuum behind the big three who themselves are increasingly made of glass.

Margaret Court has again referenced the devil in relation to LGBTI+ issues. This will be a backdrop to the tournament given that she is now going to be feted regarding her grand slam anniversary.

TA took a bit of flak for their stance and good on them but if she wants to abuse them by jumping on a soapbox fark her.
The protect the racist, homophobic, xenophobic and everyone who doesn't have a bible by their bedside phobic views of nutjobs in the name of religious freedom aren't law yet. Actually don't fark her prosecute her.

Is'nt that just displaying the same intolerance that she is being accused of?

Bag I don't demean religious fundamentalists until they demean me or mine. Free speech has its limits unless you can scare the govt into legitimising your going beyond them. pretty sure if i publicly espoused female genital mutilation i'd be yp before the beak.

Well, his last match can be against Novak instead, a more fitting (though probably less dramatic) way to exit.
Incidentally, his first ever Wimbledon match was a defeat to Novak. (That’s Jiri, not Djokovic...)

Given he referred to Fed as "bastard" I'm presuming he had money on Sandgren.

yeah but beneath the image he is a bastard and a lucky one at that. still two physical and mentally sapping matches at the business end should see the ens of him in the next one.

Have to do all that on the phone so it’s a bit more of a hassle. Plus, it was 7 match points. He should have lost.

Now Rafa's turn to fight back - Thiem chokes when serving for the match.

But he closes out the tie-break... so we get a veteran v (comparative) youngster in the final whichever way. Or, in other words, Thiem and Zverev will compete to get steamrollered by Djokovic on Sunday.

Re: Australian Open - tennis 2020
Thiem can match Djokovic because of his power (not to say that he will win, just that he could).
Zverev is just a worse version of Joker in every way.
Still, good to see that the next tier is slowly working its way up.

Don't care who wins - it's not Nadal.

Ugh. Barty blows two sets points in the first set tie breaker. Long way back from here.
