Re: The IPL thread
Hoo Hoo.....Trouble in the Paradise!!!!! CAB files case against SRK’s co, wants free tickets
Kolkata, March 25:: Claiming that they are entitled to free tickets for the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches to be held in Kolkata, Bengal Cricket Lovers' Forum filed a case against Shah Rukh Rukh Khan's 'Red Chillies Entertainment', CAB, and the BCCI at the City Civil Court.
According to Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) rules, life, annual and associate members are entitled to watch all matches at Eden Gardens free of cost except for charity games, petitioners' lawyer Ajay Sanyal claimed.
The forum has been floated by nearly 6,000 of the total 31,000 members of CAB, sources said.
Claiming that the rights and privileges of all the CAB members are being infringed by asking them to pay for viewing the IPL cricket matches to be held here from April, Sanyal said that the Forum has filed the prayer before the court seeking restoration of the members' rights.
Apart from Red Chillies, CAB, its President Prasun Mukherjee and BCCI have been made parties in the case filed by the Forum.
Shah Rukh's Red Chillies is the franchisee owner of the team 'Kolkata Knight Riders' that will play in BCCI's multi-million Dollar Twenty-20 league.
Sanyal said the case is likely to be taken up by a judge at the City Civil Court on Wednesday.

The first match is Bangalore vs Kolkata. It could be Steyn and Zaheer opening the bowling against Ganguly and Gayle. Nice.
Although Ganguly is Zaheer's bunny.

Re: The IPL thread
Teams? The South African players will be missing from the first few rounds due to domestic commitments. I'm also not sure whether the Sri Lankan and Windies players will be able to make it to India in time for the start of the tournament. Possible Banglalore team-
Jaffer (Ind)
White (Aus)
Taylor (NZ)
Kohli (Ind)
Dravid(c, Ind)
Misbah (Pak)
Goswami+ (Ind)
Joshi (Ind)
Kumble (Ind)
Kumar (Ind)
Zaheer (Ind)
Possible Calcutta team-
Butt (Pak)
McCullum+ (NZ)
Ganguly (c, India)
Ponting (Aus)
D.Hussey (Aus)
Hafeez (Pak)
L.Shukla (Ind)
Agarkar (Ind)
Kartik (Ind)
Gul (Pak)
Ishant (Ind)
Calcutta looks the stronger team on paper. I'm not sure what Bangalore were doing recruiting Kallis, Chanderpaul, Jaffer, and Dravid in the one team. Not enough hitting power imo, although Shiv has been showing recently that he can hit when neccesary.

Not that I know of. I think Cricket Australia said that a maximum of 4 Australian players could play for each franchise, but i'm not sure what the BCCI would gain by restricting the amount of stars allowed in the tournament at any one time.

I actually think I read somewhere that only for overseas players can play in any one game.

Interesting interview with MCC head of cricket John Stephenson
http://mcc.sportslinemedia.co.uk/
during which he reveals that the ECB are meeting with Allen Stanford ( he of the WI T20 fame) on Tuesday.
Also reveals that next years T20 domestic comp could well be played with pink balls if trials go well this year.

These are extravagant music videos. The ads are as bad as ICL's. Except for the honourable exception of the ICL Chennai Superstars ad.
