Re: 10 K
why would he be playing odis now if he wasnt looking at playing till 2011? 2011 will certainly be his odi swansong. wish he could play tests forever, but that too will come to an end sometime around 2011. hopefully against aus or pak in bombay as his final test match
he even refused to say the last aus tour would be his last test match there. since india tour next in dec 2011 one can only hope he's right. a home series vs pak after that as scheduled would make for a great last lap

Yep. It appears that he may have to live with his groin injury from now on.tac wrote:SG wrote:I think Tendulkar himself expressed this desire to play one last WC. Had this been hosted by some other country, I doubt he'd have given it a shot but now that its being hosted in subcon, whats better way to retire than to play a WC final (hopefully) in front of home audience (Mumbai) and winning it by scoring a match winning ton (hopefully) using his walking stick.
If his groin ever comes good . . . so to speak . . . .

I think its good that he is not the part of Indian team for next two mindless ODI series India is playing in. Thats one way of prolonging his career.

Deflecting that, I note tac is rapidly closing in on 10 K posts here.
Neat leg glance. Stopped just short of the rope.
Should be three if they hurry.

Tendulkar seems to be batting as well as ever. (Although a bit more defensive). He could go on for quite a while I think.

Re: 10 K
Jayawardene is young enough to end up ahead of Lara's tally might well be in the top 5 by the tme he retires
