UPA's spineless pandering on this front is contributing to this
And states have nothing to answer for it? What about their intelligence networks and forces? Both K'taka and Gujrat were warned atleast 3 days back about these attacks. Needless to say they did nothing other than preparing for verbal warfare with centre.

There is a huge difference between 'general warning' like that of weather bereaus [It will rain today] and precise inputs. Most states who suffered bomb blasts last year have said pretty much the same thing. Such 'warnings' were handed out even in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad routinely. Than why wasn't blasts there prevented?

As usual your ridiculous defence of Congress and bootlicking loyalties lies exposed when you miss the whole point of Josh's post. UPA's spineless pandaring for Muslim votes has resulted in total lack of strong anti-terror mechanism like stringent money laundering prevention, strong laws to take preventive action and to arrest perpetrators, lax border patrolling especially in Congress-Left ruled Bangladesh border sharing states like Tripura, WB, Assam where massive efforts to settle aliens has been going on the last 2 decades in a bid to create votebanks, Necessary modernization, infrastructure to boost policing, intelligence gathering etc. Like I pointed out earlier, the fact that after 2 years of train blasts that Maharashtra Govt has yet to pay a single paisa to victims and implement a resolution to set up a dedicated intelligence cell speaks volumes of how serious most UPA allies are in fighting terror seriously in face of losing some votes.

After Ahmedabad blasts, at least Modi's police was able to prevent Surat blasts. But after Mumbai train blasts in 2006 and first strike in Hyderabad last year, what did the ruling Congress do in both states? What intelligence and police supporting measures were undertaken that blasts in Malegaon and Mecca [Muslim heartlands in both states] were allowed to happen? Why were they not able to prevent the following attacks later on? Again my question to you goes unanswered that post 9/11 when every nation has strengthened their anti-terror laws, why did Congress scrap the 2 we had instead of putting in checks and balances to prevent it's misuse? is this how terrorism is fought? By handicapping your security agencies and scrapping laws that strengthen them?

Just fark off, you and your bootlicking types, you and your Mahaan Congress agendas. We the people will keep on dying because your favourite party simply can't be damned to care beyond petty Muslim votes. 22 major terror strikes in all Indian states and cities, the most in our entire history since independence [and these are not restricted purely in BJP ruled states] and yet you have not been able to see the larger picture and the problem that lies in the Center's court, beyond your petty personal interests that lie in patronizing this fraud Govt at the moment. Thanks to voters like you, we have a spineless home minister who has not even won an election in his backyard and who is in the position of a home minister, purely on merit of being a loyal bootlicker of the royal family just in the same manner we have a Human Resources Minister playing petty votebank games with lives of millions of qualified and educated youth of the country and holding to ransom the entire education department as per his whims and fancies. Is it any wonder that any freedom fighter who was not a Congress member is dubbed as terrorist in the new primary sylabbus [Bhagat Singh a terrorist].

It was Congress that allowed the partition to fuel Nehru's political ambitions in the end, the root cause of all problems we suffer in the name of 'Indo-Pak' relations. I see you have found it acceptable that Congress bribed the likes of Soren with cabinet berths and paroled criminals from jails to stay some more months in power. I expect nothing less from either CON-gress party and it's base of deluded supporters here. Because in the end the only thing that matters for your favourite politicians is Muslim votes. It wouldn't care less if it was an Indian's, Bangladeshi's, Pakistani's or a terrorist's.

Josh Carney wrote:The states need a tool to pick up suspects sometimes even erring on the side of caution, in order to act on these so called tips. That is what is missing now.

There was more credible information given in the case of Hyderabad blasts but ruling 'state' Govt. didn't allow police to comb minority pockets to pick up the precise people for questioing in the name of being 'sensitive to minorities''. The UPA has reduced army and police force to the status of glorified personal gurkhas and bodyguards to just protect the corrupt ruling dispensation and do nothing more. It is shocking that while in a financial capital like Mumbai there is a ratio of 1 cop : 80 citizens, there are 100 highly trained cops dispatched to guard every petty MLA who is supporting the Govt.

It's not a coincidence that the army has seen the largest number of resignations at officer level with more and more soldiers quitting the force and with most stress related suicides or colleague shooting sprees within the ranks have occured under the present Govt. Both the army and Police force are a demoralized lot thanks to current Govt. meddling. But some 'learned' forummers here will never accept truth unless it is personally fulfilling for their own causes.

SG wrote:
In this context I am pretty sure BJP will do a much better job.
What a warped statement to make?

I guess, terrorist attacks like Parliament attack, Akshardham temple and red fort never happened. Or might've happened when BJP was not in power.

Or Pak never invaded Kargil.

Or India foreign minister of all persons never escorted 5 dreaded terrorists to Kabul.

So did the the current number of 22 major terror strikes in almost every major state and city in India happen under BJP rule in Center as well? Lets answer a few questions that arise from your mischievous post above, here:

i] I guess, terrorist attacks like Parliament attack, Akshardham temple and red fort never happened. Or might've happened when BJP was not in power.
The Akshardham temple attack was no dfferent from Mecca attack in Hyderabad? Religious institutrions are always under attack for formenting Hindu-Muslim communal passions. So what is your justification for mosques being bombed in Malegaon [Maharashtra] and Mecca [Hyderabad] both under Congress? The good part if that the attackers of Akshardham are either dead or in Jail. I see no progress of such kind in other cases. As for the Parliament attack, need I remember you that the mastermind of that attack has been sentenced to death by the Supreme Court and is still not dead because the Congress is not interested in hanging him with an eye on some Muslim votes? Since no true Indian Muslim wants to see a terrorist alive, than why has Congress-UPA not upheld the law of the land in this case? I know I will never get an answer form you. Presenting facts and acknowledging them are not your forte when it comes to your chor party. Also do you have an explanation as to why BJP chose an honest esteemed person like Kalam, [a Muslim, respected and loved by the whole nation] as the President and why Congress kicked out such a person to be replaced with a useless lady best known for rural banking scams in Maharashtra as also protecting her brother accused in a murder case [Qualification for the post again - a proven Gandhi family bootlicker]. Blasts at Red Fort or Gateway of India, who is to say who is deliberately sleeping over terrorism? If you have specific inside information in this regard against BJP, please share it with the rest of us, or shut the fark up.

2] Or Pak never invaded Kargil.
India's hand of friendship was betrayed by Pakistan. So I don't see you mentioning how China invaded India in 1962 similiarly and how Nehru was caught napping while he allowed a disaster back then. So is BJP setting an exclusive precedence here? Incidentally July 26 last week was the 9th anniversary of our Kargil victory but UPA avoided commemorating it as well as acknowledging the sacrifce of our brave soldiers who lost their lives in that war. Since it was a war won by a BJP Govt. [unlike a humiliating defeat against China], I suppose it is too much to expect Congress to take note of such historical events. Tell me you did not feel anger when you saw on TV last year, Manmohan paying tribute to soldiers killed in Parliament attack, given that he had no interest in hanging Afzal. So why pay such farcical and such hollow condolences in the first place?

3] Or India foreign minister of all persons never escorted 5 dreaded terrorists to Kabul
But weren't Congress Ministers like L.K. Bhagat and others camping outside PM's office to pressuise him to release the terrorists in the first place? You forget that 180 Indian lives at at stake and the Govt. took a decision under severe politcial and media pressure regretably to save them. But by not hanging Afzal again, isn't Congress waiting for more such hostage situations so that someone can demand Afzal's release? What lessons did we learn here that they have still kept Afzal alive? And what will you say about Indira Gandhi's failure in preventing the Khalistanis from hijacking Air India planes in the Kanishka plane bombing case and blowing them up where not a single life was saved?

When will you learn to look at things objectively without looking through your anti-BJP prism and accept the fact that terrorism happens under every Govt and that Congress is too equally responsible for the present situation? They have ruled India for 50 years now and surely a large portion of the current mess has to be placed at their doorstep. BJP had 5 years in power. But Congress had 50. And despite the highest number of terror attacks all over India last 4 years, why haven't they learnt their lessons and why isn't then necessary steps being taken to prevent terror strikes?

Let me remind of you of some of the attacks and state wise break up since you are hell bent on blaiming BJP for everything.

Kashmir and Assam are both Congress controlled states at the moment. So thats 2 ongoing monthly slaughter states. barring these two we have had 22 major strikes else where:

BJP ruled states/cities - Jaipur, Ahmedabad [twice], Ajmer and Banglore.

Congress-UPA allies ruled - Mumbai [Maharastra - Train blasts twice in 2002 and 2006, bus blasts twice and also some more at some railway stations all of these between 2002 - 2005], Malegaon [twice in Maharastra], Nagpur [Attack on RSS headquarters], Attack on Bangalore Science Center at Bangalore under Congress-JD rule in 2005, Twice in Hyderabad [Andhra Pradesh], Delhi blasts. I am not even counting the daily terror attacks in Jammu, Kashmir, Assam etc.

Terror attacks in UP like Faizabad, Lucknow, Varanasi [At least 5 attacks in all] happened under Mulayam-Mayavati regimes last 3 years. Needless to say that the Mulayam regime was Congress backed[outside support] till the point of last assembly elections last year, when Nithari Serial killings came to the fore.

While technically more terror attacks have happened statistically in UPA-Congress states, than by your arguments it must be presumed that they were given sufficient advance warnings by intelligence and yet they did nothing deliberately. In case of Hyderabad blasts there is enough circumstantial evidence that preventive action was avoided due to votebank politics. Also the facts above puncture your posts completely considering that a lot of the attacks happened in places which had power both in Center and at 'state' level.

So I guess it is futile to tell you that irrespective of which party rules at state level, the threat of terrorism has risen and is now almost a daily reality show and to free India from this devil, initiatives are needed first at central level with laws and infrastructure and only then can states interact and co-ordinate together and succeed. You need stronger roots before you work on the branches they hold. Unless the Govt at Center sets up laws, bodies and infrastructure that make interstate and central to state level co-operation better to fight terrorism, nothing can happen on that front. The initiative then lies greater all the more with the center with funds and political control in their hands.

Waiting to see more crap and one eyed posts from you. Lets see how much more senseless and factless posts you can still make?

Here is something for SG to chew on:

Pak citizen contested Assembly polls in ’96

By A Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, July 29 – Believe it or not, an infiltrator with a Pakistani passport had gone to the extent of contesting the Assam Assembly polls in 1996. This unprecedented incident was brought to the fore by the two judgements passed by the Gauhati High Court that ordered deportation of 50-odd illegal Bangladeshi settlers recently.

The hard-hitting court order by Justice BK Sharma alluded to the case (Md Kamaruddin, reported in 2000 (2) GLT 79), in which the petitioner, an infiltrator with a Pakistani passport, contested the 1996 Assembly elections in Assam from the Jamunamukh constituency.

Terming the incident as something that “can happen only in Assam”, the court said, “The petitioner was in possession of a passport issued by the Pakistan Government, on the strength of which he travelled to Dhaka in Bangladesh from where he sneaked into Assam and even contested the election.”

This leaves little doubt as to the sinister designs behind the unabated cross-border influx – that is to wrest political control from the indigenous populace. In a significant observation, the court noted, “If the phenomenon of cancerous growth of Bangladeshis continues, the day is not far off, when the indigenous people of Assam, both Hindus and Muslims and other religious groups, will be reduced to minorities in its own land and the Bangladeshis, who are freely and merrily moving around the fertile land of Assam, will intrude upon the corridors of power.”

The court also came down heavily on corrupt and inefficient government officials and police besides political parties which makes it possible for the illegal migrants to have easy access to vital documents such as ration card, voters’ list and even passport.

“The discrepancies (in the documents) are so glaring that it cannot escape the notice of any prudent man, more particularly, the authorities of the Regional Passport Office entrusted with the solemn duty of issuing passports to genuine Indian citizens,” the court said while disposing one of the recent cases, adding that the police was equally callous in not noticing the anomalies in the documents provided by the illegal Bangladeshi settler.

“If the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India are being upheld in the above manner by the authorities entrusted with the task, it is easily conceivable as to what is in store for Assam,” it said.

The court also observed that “some political parties have been encouraging and even helping illegal migration with a view to building vote banks…Moreover, with corruption being all-pervasive, corrupt officials are bribed to provide help.”

The developments make it clear that the infiltrators are not only consolidating their numerical strength in Assam but are also having a major impact on the political process, especially in the matter of electing public representatives.

* A Congress Minister in Assam recently was exposed as a Nepali citizen who had used fake documents to prove himself as an Indian citizen.

* Left Minister in Tripura had to resign pending a judicial enquiry after it was exposed that he helped a Bangladeshi commander of HuJI settle and establish in Tripura under a fake identity.

These shocking and shameful ommissions and commisions have happened under various ruling Congress-Left combines. Nuff said!

Here SG more shocking skeletons from UPA cupboard -

Note that the below incident happened when Congress-Left were partners in UPA and even as farcically they were in opposition in Tripura, they were in alliance at center:

Tripura minister accused of helping a Bangladeshi Militant resigns, gets CPM's clean chit
Agartala, Sat, 19 Apr 2008 NI Wire

In an unprecedented move the CPM on Friday gave his party’s virtual clean chit to the CPI-M leader, and Tripura’s Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sahid Chowdhury just a day after he submitted his resignation on account of his alleged links with a suspected militant of Bangladesh based Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami (HuJI) organisation.

Although Choudhary said the allegation was baseless, but he was submitting his resignation following an inquiry to facilitate a free and just investigation because he did not want further his name to be linked for playing with facts and interfering in inquiry.

“I have decided to resign from the ministry to uphold high moral values and for the sake of an independent investigation," Choudhary was quoted as saying.

The inquiry was placed after the Leader of the Opposition Ratan Lal Nath a Congress leader complaint to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on April 07 for the minister’s illegal assistance to Mamun Mian, alias Suman Majumdar, supposedly a member of HuJI and demanded his resignation and an institution of an independent inquiry.

Getting full support from his party, the Minister succumbed his resignation followed by a press statement issued by the state committee of ruling CPI-M, which said he was resigning after media reports popping up his nexus with the arms dealer Mamun Mian, who was arrested on March 28 in a joint operation carried by West Bengal CID and the Tripura police.

The investigation allegedly links Chowdhury in assisting Mian to acquire an Indian passport in the name of Suman Majumdar and a permanent resident certificate. The investigators however are yet to find out the source of his income which led Mian in spending a lavish life in a rented house in Tripura for over 14 years. Mian, who identified himself a garment trader from West Bengal, was arrested for his involvement in anti-India activities and arms trafficking.

Police is now examining on various fronts comprising whether Chowdhury had any involvement in smuggling food grains and arms across the Indo-Bangla border considering his constituency Boxanagar, which is located on the border.

The Opposition Congress had earlier charged Chowdhury for his involvement in rice and sugar inter-country smuggling.

“The police (special branch) officials have started an inquiry to uncover the details about Mamun Mian and also about those who helped him stay in Tripura illegally,” director general of police KTD Singh told the media.

It is believed that Tripura's economy has been mostly dependent on informal or illegal border trade with Bangladesh and a number of people in the Northeast have been charged in the past for their support to insurgents with funds, vehicles and accommodations.

But Sahid Chowdhury is the first one to be incurred with an official inquiry against him for his anti-national activities. Chowdhury was elected for the third time from the Boxanagar assembly constituency in west Tripura on February 23 Assembly elections.

How Congress has a Nepali Citizen as a Minister in Assam cabinet -

New Delhi, April 28: The CBI informed the Supreme Court today that controversial Assam MP Mani Kumar Subba’s birth certificate and several other documents — submitted to the Election Commission to prove his Indian nationality to enable him to contest general elections — appeared to be fake.

Additional solicitor general Gopal Subramanium told the court — which had asked the CBI on January 20, 2005 to look into allegations that lottery king Subba was not an Indian national — that several documents, including Subba’s birth certificate, were “not genuine” and appeared to have been forged.

The CBI observations have come as a blow to the ruling Congress in Assam with the party having started preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.

A lottery baron, Subba is known to be the key fund-raiser for the party.

A senior Congress leader, who did not wish to be named, said the development had come as a huge embarrassment for the party and particularly those who had all along been backing Subba. “The current state leadership was not at all happy over the role that Subba had been playing.”

General secretary and party spokesman Haren Das said he had only heard about the matter and was in no position to make any comments.

Ripun Bora, a minister and government spokesman, echoed him saying it was a “sensitive matter” and still sub judice. He said it was for the party high command to comment.

“Personally speaking,” though, he said given that the CBI was the premier investigating agency and the Supreme Court the apex judicial body, “I feel that Subba should resign on moral grounds till his name is cleared of the controversy. I am one of the persons who have been saying that his citizenship is doubtful.”

The CBI had filed its report in a sealed cover but Subramanium, appearing for the CBI, made it clear that all the contents were against Subba. All candidates have to reveal their antecedents in their nomination forms for the polls.

The petitioner, Birendra Nath Singh, had alleged that Subba, who represents Tezpur parliamentary constituency of Assam, was actually a Nepali citizen, Mani Raj Limboo, who fled that country after committing a crime and illegally settled in India.

A bench, headed by Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, then directed the CBI to hand over a copy of the report to Subba, through his counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi, so that he could reply to the charges.

Subba has been given six weeks to prepare his defence.

This is not the first time that Subba’s nationality has been called into question. The CBI had probed his antecedents way back in 1997 after the then chief minister raised doubts on his citizenship with the Prime Minister. But the matter died down till Singh filed his PIL in the Supreme Court in 2005, reopening the issue.

The Nepal government had earlier said Mani Raj Limboo alias Mani Kumar Subba was a resident of village Somangkhu, ward 8, Sangsabu, Tamarkhola area gram panchayat, district Taplejung, Eastern Nepal.

After the matter came up again with the filing of a PIL in the Supreme Court, the CBI, on the basis of its earlier investigation, wrote to the home ministry that Subba’s name was not found on the electoral rolls of Assam for 1979 but it existed in 1985, 1993 and 1997.
However, no document regarding his citizenship could be collected and the earliest record of purchase of land in Lakhimpur district was 1978-79. One of his wives claimed to have visited his native place in Nepal saying he was known as Mani Raj Limboo but she could not provide any documentary evidence, the CBI said.

The agency said a vigilance inquiry in Sikkim in 1985 had revealed that he was a Nepali citizen but as copies of the report were not available, “no final view”’ could be taken. [The Telegraph]

More on Congress Minister from Nepal:

Cong candidate charged with murder
Suparna Sharma & Samudra Gupta Kashyap
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GUWAHATI, February 4: NAME: Mani Kumar Subba alias Maniraj Limboo alias Mangane Saila alias Panchite. Age: 51. Address: Quarter No. 22, MLA Hostel, Dispur, Assam. Occupation: Owner of Delhi-based MS Associates which runs lotteries in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. Also owns a plywood factory in Arunachal Pradesh and a mechanised dairy farm in Coochbehar, West Bengal. Meet Congress candidate from Tezpur, Assam, for the coming elections whose income is unknown but according to his own party's state general secretary Akon Bora, he's a ``multimillionaire.''
Among the allegations: Subba is a Nepali citizen who acquired Indian citizenship fraudulently; he is an absconding prisoner who had been imprisoned for life in Nepal in a murder case.

On December 23, G K Pillai, Joint Secretary (North-East) of the Union Home Ministry, acting on a complaint from Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, asked the CBI to inquire into the allegations. And on January 5, the CBI registered a case for preliminary inquiryagainst Subba.

Subba was elected as the Congress MLA from Neoboicha in 1991 and again in 1996 from Haarmati, Assam. Subba's nomination papers were initially held back by the Tezpur returning officer last Thursday, but two days later, they were accepted.

According to documents sent by the Home Ministry to the CBI, Subba was sentenced to life in a murder case in Nepal; he has been named in a lottery scam in Meghalaya; he was involved in ``anti-national'' unrest in Sikkim. The other cases against him include one for defaulting in payments to the State Governments of Sikkim and Manipur and for making regular payments to North-East's premier insurgent group, the NSCN (I-M).

Subba is campaigning in Tezpur and was not available for comment. The Assam Congress general secretary Bora dismissed the charges as baseless. ``All these allegations are false. He has a passport and has no criminal case against him. His candidature was cleared by the Congress High Command in Delhi. You wait and see, he will win theTezpur seat,'' he says.

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has complained that the officer did not conduct a proper scrutiny, alleging that Subba was a citizen of Nepal and had been earlier refused enrolment as a voter from 17 Central Pendam Assembly Constituency, Sikkim, in 1985.

On that occasion, he had produced supporting documents showing his name to be registered in the Assam voters' list as residing in Lakhimpur district in the State. Official records show that on a complaint by Ashok Kumar Subba of the then Janata party that Mani Kumar Subba was a foreign national with his permanent address at Ekhabo Panchayat, ward no. 8, Taplezum district, in Nepal, his application was turned down. ``Special branch of the Sikkim police conducted an inquiry and the report said that M K Subba is a foreign national from Nepal who by devious means managed to get his name entered in the 1979 electoral rolls of Assam,'' noted Gangtok's electoral officer.

Born in Sangsabu village in eastern Nepal, Subba migrated to Sikkimin 1962, then an independent country, and three years later moved to Tinsukia in upper Assam. He was reportedly arrested by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dibrugarh, in connection with a robbery.

According to documents now with the CBI, he reportedly went back to Nepal, where he was arrested in connection with a murder case. Sentenced for life, he allegedly escaped from Eelam Jail in Eastern Nepal after 18 months and came back to Tinsukia.

Subba then moved to Arunachal Pradesh where he rose to an important position in the Congress before moving to Assam. Subba, who is at present the treasurer of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, has several properties in Delhi as well as Assam. His lottery business, M S Associates, which is based in Delhi, extends to several States including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.

I just saw the news on TV and got the most shocking news of how Congress-PDP Govt. now dissolved in Kashmir planned to fight terrorism in J&K. They had actually introduced a legislation in Parliament to pay 'compensation' to families of slain terrorists and also give Govt. jobs to their family members in the name of 'Healing Touch'.

So on one hand when terrorists attack USA, Uncle Sam not only pledges to smoke them out, they launch two full scale wars on two nations and how does the ruling Indian Congress propose to take 'strictest action' against terrorism? Pay their families and give them jobs. Great idea. So every jobless anti national or criminal might just take up weapons, bomb cities, kill thousands and if they die they needn't worry, the Govt will pay them for their 'services to humanity' and their family will get financial benefits for the same. Is this a new career the Congress wants to give to the youth of this nation?

Thank God the proposal was dismissed and rejected on the floor. So why not have Pension schemes for all terrorists in all over India Mrs. Sonia Gandhi?

In another instance of taking 'strong action against terrorism', a Punjabi terrorist at the peak of Punjab militancy of 80s who had blown up a Congress rally in Punjab and killed 13 commandos and more than a dozen Congress Youth Activists who is also sentenced by Supreme Court to death is now being considered for granting of mercy by none other than Sonia Gandhi. Way to go Congress. Three cheers. What a great gesture of rewarding innocents who lose lives in thousands in India to terrorism. Might as well release Afzal from jail and make him Chief Minister of Kashmir.

It is a matter of pride for voters like SG when a softcock Home Minister when quizzed about illegal Bangladeshis in India, shamelessly and irresponsibly states that it is not possible to drive the illegal aliens out of the country.

So we all might as well prepare to die at hands of more terrorist in the near future to ensure Congress is fed their daily nutritious diet of delicious Muslim votes in the upcoming general elections.....

Sad Sad Sad

Shiv Khera launches political party - Link

Managment guru and author Shiv Khera on Monday launched the Bharatiya Rastravadi Samanata Party (BRSP) here. The party manifesto was also unveiled and names of the National Executive Committee and advisory board members were announced. Members include retired Generals, judges, doctors, engineers and other professionals who have served the nation in their own capacities.

Highlights of the manifesto include: ‘No compromise on issues of national security, war against terrorism, checking illegal immigration, bringing judicial and electoral reforms, a uniform civil code, self-sufficiency of energy and providing employment opportunity.’

Khera, president, BRSP, said, “This party has not been formed by disgruntled politicians who did not get positions of power. Instead, a group of committed people has come together on a common platform with a mission to discharge their obligation to the nation. Members include Lt Gen (Retd) Prem Sagar, Dr S C Manchanda, a leading cardiologist, Ramesh Agarwal, the president of All India Transporters Welfare Association, Justice Devender Gupta, former Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, and J R Agarwal, founder of the All India Equality Forum.”

“People from across the country with varied professional backgrounds have come together to make a difference, such as Leela Poonawala, Prof Rakesh Bhatnagar of JNU and Dr Hegde, former vice chancellor of Manipal University. This is a proud moment for us,” he said. Reiterating this viewpoint, Lt Gen (Retd) Prem Sagar said, “Through BRSP, I am proud to be a part of another freedom struggle for the country.”“We are the only party which has taken a public stand against all caste and religion-based reservations and the policies of appeasement and will not compromise the integrity of the nation at any cost. On top of the party’s agenda would be the abolition of caste-based politics, which is breeding hatred and destroying the nation. The main focus of the party will be the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society based on the economic criteria,” said a press release from the party.

RAW nabs Bangalore blasts suspect in top-secret mission

Vicky Nanjappa in Bangalore

March 04, 2009 00:25 IST

In a top secret mission, a team of the Research and Analysis Wing tracked down an absconding accused in the Bangalore serial blasts case in Muscat, and sneaked him out of Oman, since India doesn't have an extradition treaty with that country.

Sarfaraz Nawaz, 32, who allegedly played a major role in financing the Bangalore blasts, had sought refuge in Muscat.

Investigating officials told rediff.com that a RAW team managed to track down Nawaz in Muscat. They added that Nawaz was 'smuggled into' Bangalore on a chartered aircraft.

The entire operation was so secretive that even the Air Traffic Control was taken aback when they received a message to help the chartered aircraft land at the Bengaluru [Images] International Airport.

After landing at the airport, officials of the RAW and the Intelligence Bureau called top Central Industrial Security Force officials and directed them to escort the passengers in the aircraft.

The officials handed over Nawaz to the Bangalore police, who are currently questioning him.

Abdul Sattar, the prime accused in the case, had revealed Nawaz's role in the serial blasts during his interrogation.

Nawaz was reportedly close to Riyaz Bhatkal, a key Lashkar-e-Tayiba [Images] operative, who later took over the charge of the Indian Mujahideen [Images].

With Nawaz's arrest, the Bangalore police are hopeful of tracking down the remaining suspects, who might have fled the country after the Bangalore blasts.

"nincompoops and idiots at RAW"? I think RAW folks are brilliant. Their strategy at trying to be not as high profile as the intelligence officials and organizations of other nations (including the ISI) has worked well so far. I hope RAW continues to be thought of as a useless, spineless organization.

Yeah, well when 10 people armed to their teeth just can walk in and kill about 200 people, RAW will find it hard to be thought of any different.

Well done though.

I wasn't trying to be funny, as I posted as a reply to Josh when he found my comments tasteless a few posts later. It was the first of a series of similar attacks on cities using many low-intensity bombs, afair, and the modus operandi surprised me. The death toll for 6 blasts tended to be atleast 10 times that number if we were lucky, from previous experience.

Maybe I'm a hypocrite, but I find my post a bit different from wondering if a bomb had straightened Murali's arm after he had sustained a terrorist attack.
