The which is the latest pile of carp to get a contract?!?
AS the County season is at an end its time for all those also rand cricketers to try and secure themselves a contract....
So far we know:
Logan and Lucas have got new deals at Northants.
Wright has moved from Middx to essex - JK I bet your chuffed.
Any others? Please make sure they are sh1tehouse players. You can't get a giggle out of Broad moving to Notts.

I don't think Essex are in a position to be 'chuffed' or not !
We don't have enough players.
We've currently recruited the class that is:
Jason Gallian, David Masters & Chris Wright.
I'm not going to slate Wright just for the sake of it - on paper his record looks utter gash.
I remember us signing Peter Such from Leics, always thinking he was a piece of sheite. However he won us a couple of titles and went on to play for England.

Cor, I'd fantasise at signings like that. Niall O'Brien has also got another contract.
Re: The which is the latest pile of carp to get a contract?!?
I reckon thats the first time Jason Gallian & David Masters have ever been fantasised over in their lives!!
Myself, they've got the look of bog standard type county munters about them.
They aren't Richard Logan though, true...

Yeah, but as I said: Logan, Lucas(43.73 and 39.52 respectively,OD: 38.52: econ 7.16, 35.22: econ 6.15 respectively) and Niall O'Brien(FC ave of 22, OD ave of 22 - plus being a sh!t keeper) got contracts, Masters and Gallian seem like Gods.
Re: The which is the latest pile of carp to get a contract?!?
Pft. Don't you know Niall O'Brien wants to qualify for England, so he does...

Gallian can be relied on for 800 runs at 40 at the top of the order. Not the worst signing ever.

If we choose him we're in dire trouble. I mean, Wessels hardly pulled up trees but he averaged over 30 in both forms, had better S/Rs and is a much better keeper than O'Brien. Andrew Crook harldy got a game then came in a did OK, Dawson has been released(what a waste of wages)... it's just a total shambles. I'd rather be any club, bar Glamorgan ATM. Just don't know why Capel's job is so secure after the abomination we had.
Re: The which is the latest pile of carp to get a contract?!?
I can't find a site that really has anything about the movements on it yet.
Heard somewhere Afzaal had gone to Slurrey?
And Doshi to Warks??

First team wicketkeeper at my club.....
On a 2 year contract, decent hands, can't bat at the moment!

Good to see that the bears are holding onto to all their quality Kolpak players (sic). I just prey that under Gilo they can bring through more of the England qualified players ... and I don't mean Trott.

WTF they need another keeper for, I don't know. They've already got Tom New and Nico. They need top order bats and quick bowlers.
Unless they're going to rely on Ryan Cummings.
Re: The which is the latest pile of carp to get a contract?!?
Just wait - we haven't even seen the latest kolpak invasion yet.

Re: The which is the latest pile of carp to get a contract?!?
They'll play New as a batter as always and he'll be the dinkies keeper, bring him on, and then when Nico goes, they'll have a decent number 2. Same as Middx did with Scott under Nashy.
He's got serious hands mate. Is a top draw keeper.... Just holding a bat at that level could be a problem for him.
Ryan's coming on tour with me to Aus in jan. He's come on alot this year by all accounts, so not the worst young CC, got potential. He can actually hit the cut strip 6 out of 6.
Same old same old from the midlands counties really though isn't it?
JK, your probably right........ You'll find more and more that most english qualifieds play in the dinkies, until the county ee's them as a sure bet at first team level....
I see Westley got a two year deal.

I'm pretty happy with North and Porterfield for Glos. Just need a half decent seamer and our team may come together....

Double edged sword that signing really. He's either going to be the crock he was for Glammy this year or if he fully recovers no county side is ever going to see him!!

Don't Essex still have that "new Murali" kid Sachin Vaja on their books somewhere?

Think so, there was talk on 'our' board of him getting a go in the last game of the season.
He's probably pants

But, but, but he's the new Murail. Kinky arm and everything.
I know, because I read it somewhere. On the internet. Or on the wall of a toilet cubicle at a motorway service station. I forget.
