Only 25 April and that's already being used.
1 Jan is the anniversary of Federation but we're all too hungover to think about it.

How about a date connected to the Eureka Stockade? I went and had a chinese meal, it seemed appropriate.

Anzac day ...a date we share with New Zealand ...and already give great importance to
Jan 1 is an artificial date ...Federation was on that date for convenience ...and New Years day is already celebrated

Was waiting for that. How about Dawn Fraser's birthday. Ned's death day is already significant multiple times.

Re: Happy Australia Day
The claim that Britain 'Invaded' gives a sense that there was some kind of sovereignty & ownership by the occupants but we are always being told that the Aborigines of the day had no perception of either so how can a small European settlement be regarded as an invasion. 'Invasion Day' is just more emotive claptrap being peddled by the Aboriginal Industry to further their claims of entitlement above all other Australians.
Re: Happy Australia Day
and Feb 27 (mentioned earlier) was the date of Breaker Morant's execution. thought it would appeal embee and taips...
hmmn other dates
TGM's birthday...or DGBs
eventually when this place is a republic it might deserve a national day

Not now but it was back then. Todays Aboriginals are applying 20th century morals, law & political correctness to events that happened in the eighteenth century which is why they will never have any credibility.
