Re: The EPL thread (I)
Yup, agree. Not a ManU fan but on song they look brilliant. Arsenal could use a striker like Berbatov as well. Liverpool have plenty.

True - a tinge of bias - but the point I was making, just in case you missed it, was that ManU prefer the robust muscular thrusting forward - unlike Berbatov who is more the lithe and sublime type - who is more suited to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.Steve wrote:
Talk about letting bias get in the way of judgement. Only Arsenal rival Man U for playing the most attractive football in the premiership.
Hope that clarifies ...
PS - take Rooney and Ronaldo out of the front line (as happened for the first 5 games this season) and Man U look decidedly average ... so "attractive" is all a matter of subjectivity, depending on your leanings.
It would be fair to say that both Liverpool and Arsenal (together with flashes of Chelsea) are the attractive playmakers - Scum are more workmanlike in their approach.
A one goal margin-win these past 4 games perhaps proves the point.

It doesn't prove anything. They scored 20 more goals than anyone else last season, and that was over 38 games. A few scratchy wins over 8 games doesn't prove anything. Nani, Tevez, Saha, Scholes, Giggs and PJS doesn't look average to me.

History ol' son! That was last season.
This season they're 8 goals behind Arsenal, and that only after 7 games !!! Are you getting the message?

Yeah, although to be fair to Man U they don't usually start whining and screaming like a bunch of pre-pubescant girls every time they have to play a match north of the Watford Gap.

Try it sometime - But make sure you have a bucket nearby.
The ref, the linesman, Irish mafia, the opposition cheats, the crowd, his wife, the dog ... have I missed anything out?

And? They are only 2 points behind them. You don't win anything in October.

Scum tend to go for heavyweight/muscular forwards to bulldoze their way in and around the box ... deft (other than Ronaldo) is not in the Scots git's vocab.
And deft is what Berbatov is.
This has to be a joke? Rooney/Saha/Tevez are hardly "muscular forwards" in the Alan Shearer mould, those guys play around the box asswell down the wings hardly the job of a muscular center forward.

This has to be an even bigger joke, did you actually see Chelsea play last year let alone this year? yes they were efficient in winning but hardly attractive to watch infact they were the most boring of the big four for the last couple of years.
Btw Liverpool have a muscular team going forward than most in Kuyt/Crouch and Gerrard.

0-0 in both games at HT
Champions league group stages can be a bit of a bore, particularly if both teams feel they'll go through regardless of the result of the game

United haven't found their attacking game at all this season. They've been very ordinary in the final third.
Another one-niller on the cards?

Aye - no width.
I'd bring Giggs on, but he's been gash apparently

They need an out and out, 3 goals a season man. Berbatov would be perfect up front with Rooney and/or Tevez behind him.
