But a certin MP Vaughan smashed a ton in Abu Dhabi today against Surrey. If he's in form, I think he's a seirous option to open the batting for England with Strauss this coming summer.

Over-rated skunt on the back of one purple patch more like - his figures in all forms of the game suggest as much. No doubt he's elegant and attractive at the crease but he's way, way over-rated by all and sundry.

He's a flawed genius. Beautiful to look to look at when everything falls in place and absolute pants when it doesn't.

Also I don't think he knows how he does what he does, it's so natural that when it goes wrong he's flummoxed as to why it has gone wrong.

KP has worked on everything, Vaughny just is. Does that make sense?

Will certainly be interesting to see how he goes now he has the burden of the captaincy lifted off his shoulders and can solely focus on his batting.

I know he's not going to be everyones cup of tea but IMO he'd make more runs than Bopara or Shah at 3 against Australia

Vaughan is such a classy player, but he gets clean bowled WAY too much to be rated highly by me tbh. I have seen so many images like this over the years, with the perfect forward defense, the only problem being that he was late on the ball and the stumps are cartwheeling.......

I don't think he's in the Chanderpaul league for example but he's a very good test performer. Averages 48 against Aus & 72 v India. I think better sides bring the best out in him. Strangely has really struggled against NZ

But on the evidence so far a fully fit and in form Vaughan is better than Shah and Bell so good luck to him.

He plays genuine pace extremely well because he just lets his instincts take over. I've seen him smash Lee and Akhtar all round the park over the years and make it look efortless. He struggles with the medium pace dobbers hence his poor record against NZ.

Don't think, do. That's how he needs to play.

A session with LLL each morning will get him back to his instincts - that all-natural man love does that to a bloke.
