F1 has been a fertile ground for cheats for years. Or at least for those who bend the rules.

Re: Formula One World Championship
Rather than start a new temporary thread I thought the Aussies in the forum could discuss Bathurst here.
Top 10 shootout starts in just over an hour. Looks like a really open race.
One interesting little sidelight will be whether eiher of the two Pommie drivers Andy Priaulx and Ben "The Stig" Collins can beat the lone chick in the race - Leanne Tander - who is driving for Glenn McGrath's team.

I haven't caught with any Bathurst at all. Who are the poms driving for? I suspect the shoot out will be on delay here. Has it started?

There we go great race.
Webber wins, but Button crowned World Champion.
Hamilton in 5th position after his terrible start to the season - expect to see him contesting again next year

I did a Wide Wally (he wasn't happy either). Got up at 6 to watch the race (live I had assumed) only to be told by the man on the crystal set that Webber had won.

Re: Formula One World Championship
A bit of good fortune (a lot of it self inflicted ... Sutil (an absolute sh!t driver), Trullli and Alonso) ... plus a great drive in the first quarter by Button ensured his Championship.
His slick manouvre to pass Kobayashi was vintage Senna ... up the outside, jink, brake, cut inside and pass the Toyota whilst scraping paint off the wall on the sharp left hand bend in taking the Jap's racing line ....
A worthy champion.

Re: Formula One World Championship
P!ss funny set of highlights. Ferraris getting torched cos the stoopid farker in front took off out of the Pits with the fuel hose still attached, twats wiggling all over the track causing those behind to launch and bingle, the obligatory handbags at 5 paces from two drivers who took each other out, and to top it off, Mark Webber winning and Jensen Button singing "We are the Champions" (very badly).
Well done to Button on winning the Championship.

Re: Formula One World Championship
Webber drove a brilliant race - almost a perfect one - first pit at 30 laps, long after the others stopped, and once he'd built up a decent 14 second lead was never going to be caught ... whilst Rubens was just overwhelmed by the occasion.
As for the on-track handbag session between Trulli and that prat Sutil ... funny as f**k when Sutil tried to calm Trulli down having cocked it in the first place ... really thought Trulli would either throw a punch or kick the tw*t in the cobblers...
Best scene was Alonso losing it and re-coating the barrier with the blue paint off his car .... PMSL ...

Well, a change for 2010...
Race winners will get 25 points, 20 for second place, 15 for coming third and then 10, eight, six, five, three, two, and one point for tenth.
This compares to the current system 10, eight, six, five, four, three, two and one point.

'Silly' Hamilton sorry after being caught doing burnouts
March 27, 2010 - 10:27AM
Lewis Hamilton was stopped by police for behaving like a "hoon" last night only hours after he had wowed a Melbourne crowd with the fastest lap in Australian Grand Prix practice.
The McLaren driver, who in 2008 became Formula One's youngest ever world champion, found himself having to make a public apology about his behaviour in Australia for the second year in a row.
"This evening, I was driving in an over-exuberant manner and, as a result, was stopped by the police," the 25-year-old Briton said in a McLaren statement.
"What I did was silly, and I want to apologise for it."
Senior police constable Scott Woodford said that a 25-year-old male, resident in Switzerland, was stopped at 9.15pm in the St. Kilda neighbourhood at the wheel of a brand new Mercedes.
He said the car, which had "accelerated heavily and lost traction to the rear wheels" in making a turn, had been impounded and was due to be released on Monday.
"He's expected to be charged on summons with the offence of improper use of a motor vehicle," said Woodford, who added that Hamilton had a male passenger in the car with him at the time.
"It's fair to say that he was disappointed with the whole incident but I must say he was extremely cooperative throughout."
A team spokesman could offer no further details.
