I agree with the general theme of the article that Australia's dominance is bad for world cricket.

Again - the West Indies dominated for about 15 years and the game recovered. Australia has done so for less than 10 and has had a number of series losses in that time too.
The bigger problem for the world game is the all the second rate Australian coaches.

The West Indies teams had charm and flair. People loved Viv Richards for his big hitting, Michael Holding for his beautiful bowling action, and Malcolm Marshall for his incredible skill. People didnt mind seeing them dominate because it was thrilling, unpredictable entertainment. The Australian team is well drilled and trained, ruthless, and un-appealing with their on field behaviour and body language. They are admired for their skill, but not loved.

4 fast bowlers
11 overs an hour
4 balls an over were bumpers
And that's more exciting than a team scoring at 4 an over and warne going to work?

I remember people hating the Windies for their arrogance, appallingly slow over rates, their arrogance, incessant short pitched bowling and their arrogance

If you were an International cricket coach ...Would your plan to beat Australia be ...
1. Improve your side
2. Work out the weaknesses in the Australian team and get your team to exploit them
or
3. Wait until Global Warming raises the sea level until only South Australia remains above water (Shit Floats) so that the Oz XI is made up entirely of Sozzies ...
???

Inside Cricket.
Sandpit ramblings.
Panel BJ AB and Damien Fleming.
Back pats all round on Australia's amazing ability to conjure up champion new players at will. Listening to them one got the impression that this side was scarcely weakened at all.
Opening attack.
Junior was in raptures over his predicted improvement that Lee was King. Fleming threw in Weet Bix King and received a frosty smirk from Waugh.
Johnson received faint praise from Junior who appeared reluctantly enthusiastic. Not so Fleming who kept referring to Johnson as a 90 mph bowler (more dramatic I guess) who should open even if into the wind and once he gets that inswinger going he could be up there with Bruce Reid.
Border agreed saying while he was obviously nervous and bowled too wide early seeming to blame the slips cordon for this. BJ commented that four in his first test was great.
No real praise for Clark but the trio was praised as a whole for their efforts.Junior gleefully restated that from now on Lee will get the opportunities that had previously gone to McGrath and Warne. (yes Warne) and Border agreed.
MacGill
Junior seemed unsure but spoke vaporously with "pretty good effort" "flat pitch" "short of a gallop" and "occasional bad ball" followed by Fleming interrupting that Hogg didn't do much in the Pura Cup game
All agreed MacGill will play on Friday.
The batting.
Jaques was praised by all and a vey exciting prospect though Fleming said Mike Hussey's century was not his best. BJ said his form improved as his innings progressed.
Michael Clarke received unanimous praise and Andrew Symonds was perceived as great and terrorised the Sri Lankan's in the field.
Finally
Sri Lanka
Fleming said Sankakarra will make a big difference at three and Malinga must be brought back into the side (general applause. Fleming stated Sri Lanka must win the toss and post a big score and they could beat Australia who are going for 13 (if I remember correctly) in a row.
The Atapattu interview was shown and was convincing though his muppets led by a joker comments were the subject of much mirth with Fleming mentioning Batman for some reason.

Got moved because it was supposed to be followed by the final day of the yarpie Test. It's on at 6.30 next week as well.
