Good idea.
Can we put it somewhere out in the middle of the Atlantic?

Is it all of the English on this forum or mainly Notts fans who want me dead?
Simple question...

In the "good county pro" cztegory - if knocking out the central contractees, why not discount internationals altogether, BTW? - , Keedy and Chapple might fit the bill. They are generally reliable, nagging, and take wickets. Chapple can also make a few runs.
Nobody else comes to mind. Mal Loye has just started his season (unremarkably) after injury.
Horton has gone off the boil, though he might have merited a shout a month ago.
Our several A/Rs flatter ever to deceive (Smith, Hogg, Croft, Flintoff).
Luke Sutton is not the best wickiebat in the Division, and in the restricted chances he's had (OD), Gareth Cross has made next to no runs, and not even been his usual (hopefully not "previous") sharp and quick-handed self behind the sticks.
There is of course Saj ....

It's just the outlaws who have this rambunctious rustic wit, Smerky.
Don't let it get to you.
Think Robin Hood.
Or Maid Marian.

Well seems like a good call Pete. However, are there 22 County Pro's from each division who could form an XI for both?
Chapple is a no-brainer from what I've seen and read about him.

Well, obviously, you would have to forfeit the international star quality (and the endorsements) ..... but I think you would have the makings of a decent side in each.
I know several here woudl not agree (BM, Lever, Merlin, Tom?, probably both/all of the Outlaws ... maybe most in fact! ) But it's not all time-serving beige drossweasels in my book.
Take Sales, for example.

Okay, well seeing as I'm unfamiliar with the makings of a county Pro, what in your book would forward a player to be known as a "County Pro"?
Would it be down wickets, runs, time-length on the county circuit, experience on international level and then on county etc etc?

Someone who is a good player - and will usually do you a sound job, not uncommonly be the difference in county matches - but is untouched by greatness.
The sort that gets "found out" (as they unkindly say) at the highest level. Whether through incurable nerves, or some ingrained deficiences of technique, or a mixture of both.

Cook has 3 more test hundreds than Hick, averages 14 more and is 20 years younger.
Apart from that, yeah Cook.

My definition of a county pro is a guy who isn't good enough to play for England, knows it, and has no ambition of playing for England, and just wants to earn a living from county cricket. In other words, the scourge of the English first class cricketing system.

Dave Sales? Injured for the season. No longer exists in any book. Even my wank-scrap book.
Alex Wakely? Brilliant ton, but otherwise he's been shithouse.

Added to the fact Monty has been bowling trash, not been a good season for your boys has it?

Doesn't really matter what Monty has done, collectively we've been all kinds of shit. The game against Glam is a casepoint.
On the plus side, we got to play our young keeper as well as Wakely, Nelson and Willey. So at least we know we can keep the shitness continuity for another 10 years.
