Well played SL, congrats to them. This match pretty much summed up the good and bad about Pak cricket.

No matter what Younis or anyone says if you haven't played test cricket for such long periods it is bound to make any team 'rusty'. Not making any exuses because we pretty much lost the games all by ourselves.

Groupism and intra-player politics in the Pak team? Now who would thought of it?

The history is a bit rich in there isn't it?

God, the irony is so thick it could have been laid on with a trowel.

Nothing like an opportunity for certain posters to get a few cheap shots in against Pak.

Well done Lanka. Paksters have the 3rd Test to make amends; at least draw the match like England at Cardiff!!!!

Shoaib Malik got Misbah, Salman Butt, and Kamran Akmal on his side and they are not going to perform much under Younus Khan.

Now i have heard that before this test Malik was offered the opening slot which he refused, because there are no other openers in the team so his friend Salman will not be dropped but Younus went for Fawad Alam.

The way team lost it left allot of doubt among people and if it was all not true than why former chief Selector said that he wanted to drop Malik because of this grouping.

I think that is merely a speculation as it happens in India-Paskistan. When the team is winning everything looks rosy but the moment it loses, imaginary cracks are visible to the former players.

If the team was not united, how did they win a tournament just weeks ago?

Shoaib has failed to pitch up for his latest fitness test which has cast doubts upon his comeback. It's hard to believe that they're still persisting with this bloke.

Obviously he was scared it would involve a drug test.

Cheap shots? Certainly.

Lets see:
Imran Khan was facing non-cooperation at different times before the 1992 WC. Miandad and some seniors were always ready to cross swords with him. Ameer Sohail, Rashid Latif, Waqar Yunus and Rameez Raja all faced non-co-operation from Wasim Akram and his coterie. We all know how Ameer Sohail was humiliated and how that first test loss was engineered by his team mates against Zimbabwe at home just before he retired. YK gave up his captaincy first time around after facing similiar problems from senior players like Afridi, Akhter and company. My post was never intended as a cheap shot except in the mind of someone who can only see cheap shots against Pakistan anywhere and everywhere.
