I see where Amla has been signed by Essex. I wonder if that's a good get.
And Wayne Parnell is returning to Kent. Probably a coup because he did well for them and looked pretty promising in the T20 WC and in Australia and SA in the ODIs.

Jon Clare seems to have dropped off the Direbyshire radar, which is about as low as it gets. Shame as imo he had the basic tools with good coaching to become a decent prospect.
Instead they're playing the has-been Nancy Wayward

126 for Dave Hussey.
We can expect a visit from Gus creaming himself about it later...

6 wickets for Liam Plunkett against Worcs. He's actually having a pretty good season. Maybe he's finally got his action together?

Pretty sure he's only just got back into the side after losing his place for having a pretty crap season thus far.
This is only his third FC game of the year.
He has the odd good innings. And then is shit. That's how his career has gone up until now. No signs of him breaking that cycle any time soon.

He needs to play - maybe he would be better off away from Durham

Too ****** right you can - if that man were English he'd automatically be the best batsman in England. He was absolutely sublime until they brought the little part-time dobbers on; he destroyed all the front-line bowlers, and instead of taking a single on 99 like a normal bloke he just launched the thing into the Radcliffe Road End instead.
What a legend - absolutely love the bloke and it looks like he'll break 10k FC runs whilst at Nottinghamshire. Meanwhile, I see Durham have prepared their typical quagmire - chance of a points deduction, ****** all is what chance.

I rate Dave Hussey too, but man, he's the ugliest batsman after Chanderpaul.

David Hussey bats like a cat on a hot tin roof in international cricket. Has played some awful shots when Aus have needed to build a partnership in ODI's.

Shah gets the boot from England and promptly knocks off an imperious 159 against Slurrey.
History repeating itself ?
Ramprakash anyone?

Other than Bell there aren't too many middle order batsmen putting their hands up for an England spot in county cricket. Shah may not be quite finished yet.

Allegiances aside, I'd go Shah every farking time ahead of Bell.
At least Shah doesn't hide his balls under Piles's apron.
For all the stats guru's and history lovers on here ... let's not forget Bell's contribution in Ashes '05 ... 11.3 over 10 innings.
Bra...f**king..visimo!
