It doesn't look like he'll make the end of this Test series let alone the SAF tour in the Winter.

It's a shame because there were high hopes for him once upon a time. He'll probably end up in obscurity like Mahmood and Plunkett (although don't be surprised if these guys are picked in the test squad for the winter tour).

I believe that Broad has one more chance to impress. Otherwise, it's back to the prying jaws of Augustus in Notts.
You're talking like he's a player in his late 20s who has been around years and failed to impress! Broad's what, 23? If he gets dropped this time he could come back stronger in a year, or two years, or even five years. Some of our best bowlers hadn't even got themselves into the frame for selection by his age. It's rare for a young player's career to progress smoothly and the best ones can learn from the setbacks and use them to develop into better cricketers.

Understandable, but sometimes returning to the county circuit can have the opposite effect. Well, I atleast imagine with some players it can. Look at Panesar, barely took a wicket all season for Northants. Good thing England management always have their door open for players who have played a handful of tests. At the moment, it looks like Broad might play a Harmison style role whenever he's sent back to Notts. IMO Broad will always do well for Notts, which will always keep in him in contention with England. I just thought that he would thrive on two MASSIVE test match tours this year, you know, to push himself beyond the limits of his age. It's never an easy task, just ask Mitchell Johnson.
