Re: KFC Big Bash
Tanvir out for the Vics, Ross Taylor (from the Kiwis) is his replacement.
DEC Bushrangers KFC T20 Big Bash 14-man squad to take on QLD: White (c), Bravo, Finch, Hastings, Hodge, Hussey, Holland, McDonald, McKay, Nannes, J Pattinson, Quiney, Taylor & Wade
Are we allowed to play both International players in the XI?

Re: KFC Big Bash
I was working Boxing Day yesterday, which meant that most of the restaurants around my work were closed. I decided to get a counter meal from a pub, but I didn't get out till 3 by which time the chefs had knocked off for their break.
The choice then came down to the only places open - McDonald's or KFC.
I figured if I was going to be unhealthy I might as well go the whole hog and go to the king of fast food outlets - KFC!
Two pieces of hot and spicy chicken, one potato and gravy, a regular chips, a bread roll, six nuggets, a watered down pepsi and a refresher towel later I vowed never to eat at the colonel's restaurant again.
That is a vow I know I won't keep - I'll probably be back there next week. Oh the shame.

Re: KFC Big Bash
They get us like that, every time, the mongrels.
We visited the Roman Pantheon, the most beautiful of buildings. Directly opposite is this wonderful piazza with of all things, a bluddy McDonalds taking pride of place. It was one of the few times in my travels I was truly angry at such blatant corruption of an environment.
In the spirit of saying 'up yours' we went to a tiny Italian cafe instead and had possibly the worst cannelloni ever thrown on a plate. That's wotcha get for standing up for a cause.

1st Match gets underway on Fox tonight...
Test should finish around 3:00pm (local)...then the Poms v Yarps kicks off, with the 2020 rubbish as well...awesome afternoon, considering it's supposed to hit 40 today...

I think "Big Bash" is quite appropriate - cos it's a massive wank.

120 might be a good enough score tonight, given the conditions

Victoria's win was almost completely to do with their overseas players Taylor and Bravo though. Money well spent but the other batsmen have to pull their weight as well.

Gayle has the pads on, so the stories of his demise may be off the mark.

Re: KFC Big Bash
West Indians dominating the Big Bash with Dwayne Smith playing tomorrow.
Bravo 36 (18), 3 catches
Gayle 44 (24), 1 catch, 1 wicket
Pollard 45 (31), 3 catches, 1 wicket
Our 20/20 team now Smith is back is going to be 'farkin grouse'. I think thats the right term?
Anyway the first two matches have been great viewing. So far a much higher standard than the IPL.

Re: KFC Big Bash
CricAus are barring up big time about this tournament, and saying how exciting it's success and increased following is. TV ratings are reported as up 37% this season so far. Nobody's told them about drawing conclusions from a small statistical base.
There's stories this morning about creating a 'window' for it so that Test players are available when it's expanded to eight city or region based teams.
Funnily enough, there are ads in one of the Melbourne papers this morning about the two upcoming MCG Victorian games. Adult tickets cost $10. Given that that is less than a movie ticket, and probably the cheapest adult ticket price for anything at the MCG in decades, is it surprising that people will go to watch it? If they dropped the ticket prices for Tests and ODIs to a comparable level, they'd oversubscribe the ground a dozen times over.
