Worst bowling spells of all time

For sustained crapulence, this spell of MacGill's must be up there.

No. It's unanimous.

I was thinking Paul Jarvis or Allan Igglesden, perhaps, but I think the captain had seen sense long before this stage in both their cases.

Punter was just hoping MacKnob would revert to his normal level of crapulaence . . . but it just didn't happen.

Have to say, that 52 flattered Magoo. I recall about 3 or 4 full tosses that were hit straight to fielders.

And yet Hoggy!!! can't crack it for a guernsey. Any of our Tozzie members free to invade the pitch and give him a Clem-type injury?

By thge way, does Capt'n Drunky's lack of action while that spell was going on mean we can start to question his skills as a leader again?

Dilhara Fernando has bowled some woeful spells in this series. Harmi's had his fair share of shockers as well. How about Kasprowicz's spell about 3 years ago when he allowed the Kiwi's to get something like 40 runs off the last 3 overs to win a Chappell-Hadlee game.

Yeah, but everyone (well almost everyone) with a minimum of half a cricket brain has been saying something like this was going to happen with MacGill sooner or later.

And I don't think it's the first time he's served up megapies for several consecutive overs.

Australia have quite a big break until their next Test after this match. If Macgill doesnt perform for NSW in the interim then im pretty sure he'll be ousted in favour of Hogg.

You would think day 5 will have a big say, if we lose and macgill bowls poorly again it's hard to see his test career not ending here.

Apart from Bill Lawry and Tony Greig, the channel 9 commentary team simply cant tell it how it is- ie Macgill bowled absolute, complete tripe today. Slater and Nicholas were saying things like,"Well, he's not quite at his best today, but he could still easily win Australia the match here." Yeah, or he could lose it for them.....

FFS, have the guts to criticise someone. Nicholas is clearly worried shitless that he will lose his job for fear of being seen as,"That poofy Pom who berated our cricket team."

Well slats and tubby aren't going to slate macgill that's for sure.

Apart from Matthews, maybe, and I'm not even sure of that, those spells could be regarded as 'yippy' spells with the bowler never settling down. MacGill bowled, and bowled, and bowled, nearly 20 overs of rubbish; serving up tripe as though there was a never-ending supply. I've never seen anything like it.

I guess it's a black mark for ponting as well.

As i said in other thread it was back to the 05 ashes where if plan A didnt work then try plan A for a while and see if that works knowing you can always fall back on plan A if you need to.

No that started the minute hayden hit the winning runs at the scg last summer

I think we were all pretty happy with the fast bowling reserves but most if not all aussie fans were very worried about the spin.

It's the control of Warne you'll miss as much as wickets.

Perhaps Hogg will give Aus that, but it has to be said his FC record is shoite*
