I assume you mean Tugga?Allan D wrote:1 run short of equalling Dubber & Heals' effort of 187 for 6th wicket here 12 years although Oz batted first then. Dubber & Heals took score from 178-5 to 365-6 with Oz 485 all out. Looks very similar here. England are being batted out of the game. Expect to see a collapse tomorrow.

I laughed that Allan D would resort to using forum pet names.

How's that seven/four batsman/bowler split looking now?
Batting collapsed like a rickety table, bowling hasn't taken a wicket for two sessions.
And the "key man", Swann, who was supposed to lock down an end and whirl away all day (for the plan to make any sense) has been underbowled. And a bit crap.
Good times.

And reading cricinfo and this forum, I think Dar's decision was influenced by both the pads being hit and therefore the double noise. Can't fault him too much if that's the case.
Maybe Dar's decision was also influenced by the one which was overturned.
Aussies well on top now. Haddin looks so much better when he's attacking.
The lead should be well over one hundred now unless there's some type of collapse because Johnson can often come up with a valuable cameo in these circumstances.
Cook's chance was tough but a very good fieldsman would have made a better fist of it.

Or one not running in pads.

New 'Gabba Test 6th wicket record beating Clarke & Gilchrist's 216 v. NZ in November 2004. Fc 6th wicket ground record is 262 (out of 375) by Harry Kortlang (116) & Arthur Kenny (164) for Victoria against Queensland in February 1910.

The only 'positive' for England is that the pitch is still playing well.

Strangely enough the commentators were talking just before how umps can become a bit gun-shy when the review system shows them up. It also puts doubt into their minds.
Had the first decision against Hussey stood, Dar may well have been more inclined to raise the finger again.
Instead now the papers will be full of the Hussey error.
And in The Age today there was a panegryric re. Dar. Definitely a premature ejaculation.
This pair is batting England out of the game. Well done to Haddin for being so positive once the difficult period passed.

Hussey drives for 4, Bjelkie doing his usual Jeff the Wiggle impression in the field when it's going badly, barely sees it....

I can't imagine who Zim might be alluding to ...
Tremlett may have to replace the seemingly crook Broad in the next Test.
Otherwise, he really should replace any of 3, 4, 5 who fails again in the second dig. Pushing the others up might larn them some responsibility and nous.
Of the match itself, you've gotta laugh. Determination, application, daring and all, these two really were dipped in the Styx

It's in the nature of the quick-gratification infantilism of modern life that reputations are bandied up and down from match to match, innings to innings, session to session. Heroes to zeroes to heroes, bouncy castles.
I think you have to see through the emotional hysteria of the couple of sessions and attempt a slightly fuller view, if you want to develop a less laughably unbalanced judgment.

It was worthy of Tuffers at his best.

This is a massive leap forward for Haddin.
Shirley Temple back on - shame 9's 'Lobby Lloyd' bowling chart didn't give him the pink ball....
ST draws a hoick from Hadden, which Anderson duly grasses in a tuffnellesque effort.

I have my doubts, if by "we" you mean those aside from FB who make the calls.
Unless of course fatigue and crockery set in from back to back.
I think there has been a tendency to overdo the stiff upper lip on the part of the England management when things go badly wrong.
It's the converse of the FB characteristic of jump-up-and-down infantilism - hero-zero, hurrah! for X / out-out-out! with X.

Hussey 150, thanks to another misfield.
