FWIW, I think it will slow down the game a bit too much.

Presumably they can use radio technology to avoid all the confusion of cabling out to the middle, but still. ...

Ah. I didn't recognise it under that heading. I'm not sure how one would.

In any case, I was trying to extend the story in a vaguely humorous direction. ... not just state the obvious, sort of style.

Daryl Harper should be wired to the mains - it's not going to improve his decision making (that would involve some knowledge of the game) but it would be in some way be very appropriate.
