Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
The moth-eaten old blurter looked just as sick last year. I nommed him last year but went for his son this year. Blackadder picked the older Douglas this time around.

the 'moth-eaten old blurter' looks like he loves the smell of naphthalene in the morning
(although he'd struggle to say so)

Forgive my apparent lack of respect and cold-bloodedness towards Ol' Kirk, but there's CDL 2011 to be won!!!!

Yeah i thought Jane russel died in a car crash about forty years ago. i now realise i was getting her mixed up with jayne mansfield. Though i don't suppose it matters which starlet was Mariska Hegarty's Mum, at least we know her tits are real.

Back when I was a young fella there were dances held at the local hall every fortnight & every time the band played "Running Bear". To be perfectly honest, I got sick of it very quickly. Anyway, Johnny Preston has gone to the happy hunting ground. RIP

(Groans) I thought I'd escaped that song forever. I suppose they'll run tributes to him with it as background music, (makes note to avoid news and current affairs shows for a couple of days).

furriner ... furriner ... where are you?
coincidentally I was reading the original Tas v NSW final thread earlier today, and was reminded by your early posts on it of a time I linked to Johnny Preston's classic, much to your annoyance and amusement

FFS, I saw the Motorcycle Diaries last year and remembered thinking about this guy for my CDL this year when I realised he was still alive.
It says:
"he also possessed a good sense of humour and a taste for wine, girls, literature and rugby''.
Sounds like a grouse guy.

The Motorcycle Diaries was on SBS Two again last Thursday. I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. Couldn't believe it when I read today that Granado had just died. I'll have to watch the movie tonight.

there are worse tribute days....I was stuck in Longreach the day Slim Dusty ran out of oxygen tickets and in the same year was stuck in Roma (the Billy version) the day RM Williams croaked..

Sheen dies
"British motorcycling legend Barry Sheene died from cancer at 52 today (8 years ago).
The twice-world motorcycling champion, famous for repeatedly defying death on the track, passed away after suffering the disease for eight months. He died peacefully at a hospital on Queensland's Gold Coast with his family by his side."

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
Shouldn't be long now
""I'm really starting to lose my mind. I'm ready to call anyone to help." He also told them, "I'm really trying to contain myself right now. My lawyer wants to come over to my house and take the bullets out of my gun."
One source told them, "It's crazy over here at the house. Charlie's losing it. He's really mad about the show, and dealing with the kids and Brooke is getting to be too much. Charlie is a ticking time bomb, and we all fear he could do something drastic like committing suicide or falling back on hard drugs... He's a danger to himself—a really big danger."
---------------------------------------------------
Watch this space. Won't be long before Charlie takes a bullet to the head or a drug overdose. He's one wacky dude, who really isn't winning at the moment
