Bumping the latest scorecard in case ZZG karks it in coming days. AD could jump to an unassailable 2 death lead.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
A lead perhaps, but hardly unassailable. Vilkrang also has a terminally ill case on his list (as does everyone else if you count life as a terminal illness from which there is no recovery) although I also have high hopes (!) for Hosni Mubarak, who was a late addition, for, I think, record-breaking score of 3.
Nevertheless there are 225 days left of scanning the obituary notices whilst the Grim Reaper continues to wield his scythe through the ranks of the great, the good, the bad, the infamous and the totally absurd. I wish I had had a punt on Dominique Strauss-Kahn who might yet decide to fly to what Hamlet calls
if the prospect of a long spell in Riker's Island beckons although hopefully the US judicial process will last long enough to make him eligible for the 2012 list.
So, do not despair, competing CDListers, even those who've drawn a blank so far a good cold snap at the end of the year may remove some of the nonagenarians and centenarians on your lists at a stroke, so to speak (I think the CDListers concerned know who I mean, Skully )
In the meantime, as the tentmaker from Tarsus said:

Puts me in mind of Bill Shankly's famous remark about football:
Some people say it's a matter of life and death but I think it's more important than that

Even if he was conscious they wouldn't be able to understand him.

Z-Z G is a tough old bird, to give her credit. First they saw her leg off then they try and poison her through her feeding tube yet, as John Adams might have said, "she still...." like a veritable female Rasputin. I shall be sorry to finally see the old girl go.

Nath will be gutted. Macho Man dies.
"Macho Man Randy Savage died Friday morning in Florida after reportedly suffering a heart attack at the wheel, crossing the median and crashing his Jeep Wrangler into a tree. The former pro wrestling star was 58."

Took pro-wrestling dives with the best of 'em.

Oi, Nath. Dog the Bounty Hunter always reminded me of a pro-wrestler from back in Randy Savage's day. Was he a wrestler, AFAYK?

I used to love the old WWF series with the likes of Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, The Animal George Steele & of course, Andre the Giant. It was great theatre.
I guess the Roids caught up with Randy in the end.

Indeed he did, JG, playing the delightfully entitled "Bone Saw" McGraw, along with voice-overs in Family Guy and King of the Hill, inter alia. Born just 10 days before Imran Khan too:JGK wrote:I think Macho Man even made an appearance in Spiderman didn't he?

58 is pretty good in "wrestler years" though. Usually if it's steroid related, they don't get past 40. Pretty unfair to lose a Randy Savage when that crackhead Jake "The Snake" Roberts somehow is still surviving.

How old is Hulk Hogan? He might be a chance for next year's CDL.
