Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
I think we got electricity & a television in 1964. My first cricket related memory was watching the newsreader talking about a bloke called Simpson making 311 in England. The first show I remember was Rawhide.

I have vague recollections of Shari Lewis and Danny Kaye, and of my folks being very upset when some bloke got shot in Dallas

JR never really recovered. He thought Bobby had got knifed to skreek-skreek-skreek violin accompaniment in the shower. Psychotic delusions.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
I know I have partaken in the mirth of this thread, but just lately I am a bit disgusted with myself for having done so, as yesterday I attended a fourth funeral for 2011, all in the past 8 weeks...
Of course if a couple of my picks were to die instead of a couple of my friends, I might feel a little better.

Confirmed, according to the BBC. What a terrible shame - only 27 and a great talent.

Also did my second in about a month yesterday. Also ducked a triple funeral in between
Amy Winehouse. Waste of talent. .

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXI / The Death Thread 2011
Eowyn scores the first U30. Should really count double (although in Ms Winehouse's case that's arguable as it was always odds-on she would never see 30). Perhaps we should introduce a rule that, in the event of a tie, U30s count double. Of course Skully and Gus would have to agree (possible in the case of the former, highly unlikely in the case of the latter).

I feel for her family - they are going to go through enough hell anyway because of Amy's death. They will also have the usual intrusive media interest to contend with as well.
