They weren't unbeaten at home because of their bowling, which is the thing that Kirsten spanked. They were unbeaten at home because of their batting.
So, in actuality, it was SA's bowlers that spanked India, not Kirsten.

No, we were unbeaten mostly because of Kumble, the batting's been there always.

I have nothing against white people or anyone else. I have slight issues with Islam as you can see from my sig/location, that's about it.

Re: Gary Kirsten new coach for BCCI XI
On a more serious note, Dar-ul-harb (house of war populated by kafirs, which makes it fair game, as compared to dar-ul-islam populated by the faithful Islamists) accurately reflects modern India which is a plural society yet attracts second largest number of terrorist attacks after Eyeraq, mostly due to its muslim population and due to a fantastically peaceful muslim society in the neighbourhood, with whom we are now enjoying kirket.
While all this happens the dhimmified Govt of India runs around in circles trying to cover up desperately any act of terror commited by the faithful and claiming farcical peace talks with neighbouring country will go on as usual. Any sign of deviating from this trend and Unkil sam steps in and threatens sanctions/travel advisories/South Asia nuclear flashpoint bogey raises head suddenly in Washington Post/NYT.
So like my avatar as a result of all this, is running around in squares/circles.
Sorry for going OT.

Some of the younger players want Peter Roebuck...

err..
I would not have made those comments in 1996

I presume they'll look after the national team coach better than they do the touring teams.

Did they make him stay in a hotel no-one had ever heard of that had only one lift the size of a box of cigarrettes?

Re: Gary Kirsten new coach for BCCI XI
Gary Kirsten has been appointed as coach for BCCI XI from March 2008 onwards.
The contract is for 2 years.
And he will joint the team as a 'consultant' during the Australian tour.

His first full series in charge will be against SA! That is a series I will probably not care who wins.

Wouldn't Herschelle Gibbs have been a better bet for this?
