Does childbirth really hurt that much?
Or is it something they all hype up a bit in the safe knowledge that we men can never dispute it?
I only ask because I know some women who won't even paddle in the shallow edge of a coldish ocean, or eat a vindaloo, so it seems a bit unlikely that they'd ever be prepared to endure several hours of intense agony.
What would the male equivalent of pain be? Stubbed toe? Stepping on a piece of Lego? Gentle kick in the nuts?

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
Some say it's the same a man passing a bladder stone, have you tried that?

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
No, but I did pass a kidney stone once which is presumeably similar. Slightly uncomfortable with a quite mild internal ache for a few moments. Thanks, that clarifies things nicely.

Did it come out via your penis, did you see it, was it the size of a baby's head? Have you passed anything the size of a baby's head from any orifice?

Your claim of being something other than just a wind up merchant gets less credible by the day EH...

Can't be worse than a really really difficult dump that produces a little blood surely?

To answer your questions; yes, yes, no and no.eowyn wrote:Did it come out via your penis, did you see it, was it the size of a baby's head? Have you passed anything the size of a baby's head from any orifice?
However, is the hole my kidney stone came out of likely to be as wide as that through which a baby's head generally exits?
(Vilks, I am also a bollox-talker, a rose-tinted glasses wearer and an occasional tw@t , so I thinkl it's unfair to say I'm nothing more than a wind-up merchant. If I am one at all though, then surely I'm a pretty innocuous one.)

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
If childbirth is like having a really substantial dump, maybe it's actually pleasurable and not the least bit painful?

It's a like most things, better out than in at the end of the day. I bet ever hopeful's stones weren't delivered with forceps though...
And Tom, yes, the relief at the end is just as good as having a big dump, though you don't hold a dump in your arms after.
You lot are the biggest bunch of lovable windup merchants ever and I do love you.

I think those who belittle women's effort on this or other forums should try fisting at the hands of Mike Tyson.

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
I thought on the old 1-10 pain scale the -
average birth was a 7
kidney stone was a 9
acute gout was 10.5

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
It's certainly worth thinking about. I'm sure it would help me see things in a whole new light. Does he do that on request though, and have you got a number for his agent? Also, you did say "hands" with an s. Was that just a figure of speech? If not, then couldn't I let him start with just the one fist (which after all is probably as big as an average baby's head on its own)?PeterCS wrote:I think those who belittle women's effort on this or other forums should try fisting at the hands of Mike Tyson.
