I don't recall Henry ever requesting a fisting from Mike Tyson in order to better himself.
(Sorry if I've got that wrong though, Henry)

So... what is the most painful thing that any forummers have experienced?
I'll start. Indecent Proposal. Excruciating.

Adelaide 2006/7... even if I did make a pretty penny out of it.

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
A double dislocation of the ankle and five fractures (there and up the leg) comes close. Playing rugby at uni.
It's no fun lying on the ground and seeing your foot at a weird angle, the heel further back than it should be, the front part jutting into space.
And then the pain starts shooting up your body ... with a vengeance.
Sciatica can also be a bastard, that trapped nerve is again a bolt of unpredicted blistering pain that is all the worse for kicking in at any time.
And throbbing sinusitis with acute dental neuralgia is no laughing matter either.
Hmmmm.
Cheers to painkillers.

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
The most painful moment of my life was when my eardrum exploded while on the descent to Bangkok airport. And when I say exploded, I don't mean a perforation or a burst - I mean it exploded!
Because I was on a flight with a hundred other people I didn't scream, although I felt like howling and howling. It's not that I was able to control myself - if the pain was less severe I probably would have screamed. But the pain was so intense I felt like I'd entered some new unknown dimension.
It also didn't help that my eyeball felt like it was being sucked out by a vacuum cleaner and that my forehead was about to collapse in on itself.
It made the time I had a clean break of the fibula just above the ankle and the time I smashed my nuts into a garage wall while riding a bike at full speed seem like mild tickles.

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
Compound fracture of the left big toe after I lost control on my bike after hitting a bump going down a hill at ridiculous teenage speed. I bounced off the seat, wore the bar in the nuts (much like Hass's experience above) and my left foot flew into the front wheel, and I cartwheeled. Picked myself up, covered in grazes and then felt the pain in my foot. I thought I'd actually cut the toe off but it was hanging by a thread and some sinew. Other than the pain, the worst part was that it was the first morning of 2 weeks of school holidays. I learned how to bat in the backyard with one leg on a chair!!

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
I was in hospital a few years ago and they had to take a blood test from an artery. Completely made me reassess the word "pain", essentially they were poking around at an artery in my wrist for about 10 minutes with a needle trying to get some blood out, was utterly excruciating.
Once it was done I had a bruise that covered my wrist and forearm, nearly up to my elbow, didn't heal for weeks. Nasty stuff...

That's just poor nursing

Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
MRSA was sort of painful, that fence spike halfway in my armpit was agony, but really I don't think I've experienced epic pain - there's so much more leeway - hopefully I get to find out.
Re: Does childbirth really hurt that much?
Unless he'd done something to offend the nurse of course, in which case it was clever nursing.
